Dividend hunting in the Renweables/Intrastructure sectors
Lots of high dividends to be found in Renewables and infrastructure right now, as I'm sure HYPers are aware, although the sector is not without its risks.
Found this good primer here:

I currently hold NESF, FSFL, BSIF & SEQI for my HYP. Mulling on adding another holding or two.

There are threads for Greencoat UK Wind (UKW) and Gore Street Energy Storage Fund (GSF) on the "Company Share News (LSE Main Market)" board.

Thanks for the link. I doubled up my NESF holding today, I hope it's not good money after bad.

Re: Dividend hunting in the Renweables/Intrastructure sectors
Yah, I bought into JLEN today.
The sector has had a wee rally over the last few weeks, but still very cheap. I'm fairly overweight on these plays - most importantly the dividends appear reliable and predictable.
It's reassuring to know that the discount to NAVs have been across the board, rather than problems with any particular fund. I've followed all my holdings very closely and I think that they're all very well run and governed.

Re: Dividend hunting in the Renweables/Intrastructure sectors
NESF announced an intended 8.43p dividend for the next year - I make that a 12.1% jump in the dividend.
No buybacks, unlike it's peers BSIF and FSFL.
I'm dead chuffed with that tbh. Like I said I think the sector is ridiculously undervalued..

Oops, sorry disregard this, that is an increase from last year to next year, not from current year to next, sadly. It's actually just a 1% increase

I've been looking at JLEN again recently. One thing I find puzzling about their documentation and 'fact sheets' is that I can't see a simple list of assets by size i.e. top 10 or top 20 holdings. I've looked on the JLEN site and the AIC site.

I found it fairly easily here:

expand where it says "Click here to see Investment portfolio summary"

Re: Dividend hunting in the Renweables/Intrastructure sectors
I've long held JLEN within the sector, particularly because of its diversity of energy sources, (solar, wind, biomass, water, etc).
I also hold: BSIF, NESF and GRID, all predominantly for dividend yield. Of those, I topped up NESF a few weeks back to capitalise on its now higher yield, large discount and diversity.
I am hopeful of recovering SP's, if, as and when interest rates start to fall back. I understand another challenge for the sector is gaining access to the (National) Grid.
Accepted, with hindsight, I may have a little too much exposure to the sector.

I can find a breakdown by sector, but not an overall top twenty.

You have them all listed there, you can sort them yourself. It doesn't make much sense to order purely by size as different renewables will have differing economies of scale as the technology depending on the maturity of the technology

It seems to me reasonable that a fund should list where the most significant chunks of its capital are committed.

Nearly - it's actually 23rd May.
"The interim dividend of 2.09 pence will be paid on 28 June 2024 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 24 May 2024. The ex-dividend date is 23 May 2024."

Yes, sorry, I sometimes write ex div alerts in my diary a day or two before, deliberately, in case I want to top up before the ex div date, In this case I forgot to adjust the actual date when I posted above. In fact I added NESF to my wife's pf yesterday, instead of my pf, as I had topped up my holding in April.

Re: Dividend hunting in the Renweables/Intrastructure sectors
Any views on ORIT? They're almost giving this thing away if the 32% NAV discount is anything to go by
I like the idea of their diversifcation, but they look like one of the worst performing plays amongst their peers, currently sinking to all time lows while the others have bounced (some quite well). Tasty 8.8% dividend now, mind.
