Seriously though, I expect the reason for that is to try and help users who agonised over that question wondering whether a "no" might be final, and wanting confirmation that "later" was indeed an option.

Yes, I've had all those things. Edge, Garmin, Skype, Internet Explorer and that bloody Cortana woman, all pestering me to show how much I love them by "updating my preferences". Having shouted at them uselessly that my preference was for them all to feck off, I discovered that I could shut some of them up by opening Task Manager and striking them off my start-up list.
Mind you, Skype had the last laugh on me. Having been unable to remind me that I hadn't made a Skype call in six months (because I'd switched it off), it snaffled my remaining credit balance and disappeared into the ether with it.
