Re: Fight of the Century
An interesting issue has crossed my mind. Since one possible outcome of all this is an investigation of what the police and Crown Office were up to, who would carry out that investigation. Since the merger (AIUI) of all Scottish police forces by the SNP, they can hardly investigate themselves. And the Crown Office is a tricky one for the same reason. If an investigation by an English force is unacceptable, maybe the SNP would call in someone independent but sympathetic, like the North Koreans.

Re: Fight of the Century
The growth of the SNP to around 50% of those that vote in Scotland, not the population though. Has been to many Scots that sometimes work in England, have direct family links to England has been one of the most depressing political changes in my lifetime.
We have a vey divided, beautiful wee country which the SNP seem hell bent on destroying. Families have been divided and friendships destroyed.
There was a time when a bit of anti English sentiment was friendly rivalry, that you expect to see between such close cousins, it has been twisted by pr and and spin into something much more sinister, I hope we have reached peak SNP.

Aye sure it's madness!
But there's a very recent precedent for that type of divisive rabble-rousing; it got the throttlebottoms in Westminster elected after all!
I'm not sure Nicola could have got the SNP to where they are presently without their help....what's another mental protest vote among cousins!?

Throttlebottoms. Thanks for that, it will henceforth join snollygoster, ninnyhammer and ultracrepidarian in my ever-growing library of pithy political insults. What they all need is a good dose of the feague.

Re: Fight of the Century
This may be an important issue but does it really deserve blanket coverage on BBC and Sky news channels, even obliterating coverage of the Budget.

Re: Fight of the Century
It's laughable how Sturgeon can't win whatever she does. Journalists ask her questions about Salmond at the Covid briefing, and she answers them.
244 people complained to the BBC that she was inappropriately using a Covid briefing for the wrong purpose.

Re: Fight of the Century
Not making me laugh.
She promised two years ago to be transparent over this issue, and this has been followed by every single document available not being made available.
And today it gets worse, documents that should be available cannot be found.
Donald Dewar backed a devolved administration in Scotland to move some power out to the regions and it has been hijacked by a rabid mob that will never ever get 50% of those that can vote.
There is no economic plan for Indy, the currency and pension just a party tapping into blaming others.

Scott.
Quite easy to say "this isn't the forum for those questions. People are dying. blah blah"
It's a Covid briefing.

I imagine Nicola will be sending Hazza and Megsie champagne and flowers now that they've managed to consign her spat with Monsieur Salmond to oblivion, at least as far as English papers are concerned. Shame, I found her and Alex much more entertaining.

I'm damned if I can see any similarity between the woke Prince and Alex Salmond.

And being alert to the need to treat all people with common decency, even women?

We are doomed.
Hopefully not. The fight of the century is just hotting up. Re today's widely published pronouncements from Nicola concerning Alex's character
I would like to say a lot more - but I fear banishment to another place.

This is getting so tiresome. Either Scotland remains part of the UK or returns to independent status. Just let's get on with it! I remember the same discussions 40 years ago - well 1983-ish, so almost 40 years.
Someone commented that the whole of the UK should be allowed to vote. Everyone was so tired of the whole thing. That way, they'd get their %$#!! independence whether they %$$@!!! wanted it or not!!
Or you could turn it around and argue that it would be England getting 'their' independence.
Why should we all not be allowed to vote on it? Democracy in action. c.f. Brexit. Problem solved.
