Re: SAVP. Amazing Opportunity or a disaster waiting?

When I prevoiously mentioned the progress the company had been making in the background, this Mirabaud note fleshes out what has been happening (courtesy of thomasthetank1 on advfn). Mirabaud - Savannah Petroleum GETTING MORE FOR LESS Following news in December of further positive changes to the Sev...

Re: SAVP. Amazing Opportunity or a disaster waiting?

The Seven deal closure has been put back to Q1 in 2019, so that's not really helping matters. But every time Andrew Knott pops up on some investor forum or as he did today in a conference call with PIs, there some tremendous developments going on. I met him late last year at an event where SDX were ...

Re: SDX Energy

SDX is currently suspended because there has been press speculation about their possible acquisition of BP's assets in Egypt. Amongst PIs there has been some comparison with the deal SQZ struck with BP and saw its share price multi-bag as a result. But IMHP the key difference is that SDX is getting ...

Re: SAVP. Amazing Opportunity or a disaster waiting?

The curious thing with SAVP is that the share price appears to have been unmoved by the recent Niger discoveries and the implications for future drills. Of course, the expanded number of shares would always have diluted the impact of Niger success, which was a reason why some PIs were very much agai...

Re: SDX Energy

Fairly detailed note, though I find the Edison notes more helpful in terms of the breakdown they give for the individual assets and the risking they apply to them.

SDX Energy

I've been in this for a while and thought now might be a good time to flag it up. They've made some progress, SP is off its one year lows and the reason for posting is that based off a presentation they made earlier this week there could be quite a lot more to come - over the next several months, wi...

Re: Has oil price topped out?

Interesting piece on Bloomberg: The missing nail in this case will be the low-sulfur fuel that ships plying international waters will soon require. And the consequence could be a spike in oil prices large enough to threaten global recession. https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2018-04-18/limit-s...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

I'm reasonably reassured by the developments in the last 24 hours. The size of the fund raise also dispels notions of these being another bunch of AIM spivs. The dilution hurts, but it was expected, albeit it's more than anticipated. The company won't be going cap in hand to anyone in the medium ter...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

beerpig, I agree. I think there are various people having fun and games with what has attracted an army of PIs. There were between 100-120 at the AGM today by my reckoning vs. 5 at the SDX one a few weeks earlier. I've drawn parallels with XEL earlier in this thread. OTOH, I think Trice comes across...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

Can't say that I am altogether surprised by the recent price action. Regardless of the cackhanded way the warrants were dealt with, I think there would always be problems with funding (i.e. perceptions of costs, dilution and terms) and that would be a function of HUR's relatively weak bargaining pos...

Re: SDX produces a surprise Easter Egg

Post 2681 on this thread: http://uk.advfn.com/cmn/fbb/thread.php3?id=40789604&from=2663 from tournesol has an excellent write-up of the AGM held on 18th May 2017. Company seems to have an excellent combination of cashflow, financial prudence, and growth from improving the productivity of existin...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

Ah ok, I must have misunderstood slide 45. This shows FID happening by June 2017 and an arrow showing EPS funding ending at June 2017. Going by what you say, they'll have all the money they need for the EPS settled by then. Where I had become confused was the last arrow showing potential farm-out, w...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

dspp I am not so sanguine about getting hold of EPS funds painlessly. If all the funding is in place before June 2017 and there are no cost overruns, we are ok. But if they expect to get some funding once they have committed (post-June 2017) and can't turn back, then we are at the mercy of whatever ...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

Hi Peter From what I've been able to understand looking a various XEL RNS's from a couple of years ago, while they had used various creative methods to address funding issues, for example, they seem to have used a similar structure to the one HUR are proposing i.e. a limited company whose shares the...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

I remember seeing these people at an oilbarrel many years ago and thought I'd check out their obituary: It opted to carry on drilling in order prove the full potential of the Bentley field before bringing in an industry partner to shoulder the costs of development. It’s not an uncommon strategy and ...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

The real purpose of the EPS is, of course, not to produce revenue, but to show the world that HUR has other options than farming out/selling out cheaply at this stage. It allows them to say they are going to create revenue for themselves and at the same time provide additional proof of concept for ...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

Hi dspp, I hoped I wasn't inferring any opinion of malcy either way, in my post. My perspective was in terms of the points he was making that appeared to be coming from the company. So, for example, in terms of the CPR and what it may or may not say it seemed interesting that he should point out tha...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

Malcy seems to be doing a decent job of expectations management (post 19043 on advfn). He refers to any CPR being on a preliminary basis with 'plenty of upside'. He also says that the first phase farm-in partner could even be an oil-trader (and not the likes of BP that many are expecting). I'd imagi...

Re: Hurricane Energy (HUR)

Difficult to see how RNS can be delayed much longer. There must be an RNS tomorrow after this - even if it's only to say the FT is talking balls - which I suspect is unlikely! Peter This was standard Encore procedure IIRC (weekend news releases to the press), and together with the CA tweet on Frida...

Re: BLVN

Just had thick set of papers from Bowleven about the EGM. The interesting thing is that I hold through a nominee account, and they've come directly from BLVN, not from the broker. They must have got a list of shareholders from the broker and mailed directly. This whole EGM business must be costing ...
