Re: Brexit all over?

I'm not vaguely sorry that you think I deny our Sunderland voter an intellect . I'd like to deny anybody not suitably qualified to exert such an influence on economic power over me . I don't care whether they are from Sunderland or Bethnal Green, if they can't even understand exactly what they are ...

Re: Trump

Compare and contrast the reactions to the devastating fire at Notre Dame Donald Trump - So horrible to watch the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly! Barack Obama - Notre Dame is one of the world’s great treasures,...

Re: Francois abandons any pretence he is acting in the national interest

And it just shows how low the Daily Telegraph has sunk when it publishes this opinion piece Yesterday, something extraordinary happened in the Brexit saga. Mark Francois, vice-chairman of the European Research Group (ERG), entered the public’s consciousness for the first time as a potential leader f...

Re: Trump

Trump now sticking his nose in with Brexit Too bad that the European Union is being so tough on the United Kingdom and Brexit. The E.U. is likewise a brutal trading partner with the United States, which will change. Sometimes in life you have to let people breathe before it all comes back to bite yo...

Re: Who's signing the petition?

For true credibility you should be able to down-vote as well as up, but petitions don't work like that, as they are not opinion polls. My question is whether this petition works at all. Or for that matter any petition that presents only one side of an issue. An opinion poll is an act of discovery. ...

Re: Who's signing the petition?

Yes, but which army of people are cross-checking the names on the petition against the electoral roll? Erm, why would anyone employ an army of people to do mundane work that's so much easier and more-reliable (i.e. less error-prone) for a computer? That misses the point. Regardless of how such frau...

Re: Who's signing the petition?

possible naive question... wouldn't it cost what we are currently paying to be "in" the EU? which is presumably a known figure? About £9billion per year. About an eighth of the defence bll, or about one twenty-fifth of the health bill, or about 40p per day per person in the UK. Scott. Thi...

From the HoC Petitions Committee Petitions Committee ‏Verified account @HoCpetitions The rate of signing is the highest the site has ever had to deal with and we have had to make some changes to ensure the site remains stable and open for signatures and new petitions. Thanks for bearing with us. htt...

Re: Revoke Art 50 petition

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/241584 874,823 and counting… Your post of 874,000 was timed at 13:08. At 14:54, the total had passed 1,000,000. Without taking into consideration the fact that the petition site has had problems today, that is a phenomenal rate of sign-ups.

Re: Brexit all over?

I can blame the EU for stating they regret but respect the will of the British people and then not negotiating in good faith to obtain an orderly UK exit. The EU with the compliance of a pathetic UK negotiating team and encouraged by a vociferous anti-brexit Parliament have been as difficult and ob...

Re: Brexit all over?

Speculation Leadsom voted against Government motion. An entirely futile gesture since there was no chance it would fail. She did. So did Liam Fox. Resigning matter? https://commonsvotes.digiminster.com/Divisions/Details/633#noes Even more incredible, Stephen Barclay wound up for the government, and...

Re: Brexit all over?

This is getting testy, currently a row going on about selected amendments as ERG one not chosen. However, one calling for a second referendum has been chosen. Can't see the ERG problem here. ERG amendment ruling out 2nd referendum - ERG would have voted for it, but whipping status unknown. Amendmen...

No they are not, and if Carole Cadwalladr is to be believed, this is very worrying and reduces the UK's options. [re-phrased for language] Last week @arron_banks & @andywigmore went to Veneto, the heartland of Italy's Lega Nord. Today, the plan is revealed. The fascists have agreed to help Brit...

I need to evidence this pipe somehow to support my case Many years ago, I resolved a boundary dispute using historical aerial photographs from the national archives. Time and technology have moved on, and there is a huge library of these online at https://historicengland.org.uk/images-books/archive...

If anyone is interested, Morgan do guided tours of their Malvern works. I have done this twice and found it really interesting, although you do run the risk of being with a group of drooling enthusiasts !

Cobham (COB) FY results - dividend to be reinstated in 2019

Some here may still hold Cobham. For those that don't, they are a top end of the FTSE250 aerospace supplier that had a wonderful dividend record - until one day they didn't ! An 11.5% CAGR in the 10 years 2006 to 2015 was very impressive indeed. A botched take-over and Boeing contract non-compliance...
