Re: Green Balls in my Plants

No white ones?

This appears to explain https://homeguides.sfgate.com/white-bal ... 73335.html

These balls are actually tiny pieces of perlite, which is a naturally occurring material that is beneficial in several ways to your plant.

I thought I mentioned that but seem to recall June is out of season!

I'd forgotten last time around wasn't on a Thursday.

Do we need another Poll? :)

Re: Game of Thrones season 8 starting.. excited peeps?

Yeah, episode 3 will be a big one alright. Who would want to be in the crypt? Reminds me of Jim Bowie being trapped in his last scene in The Alamo. Btw, I don't think you mentioned Beric's flaming sword or whatever it is. Potentially more important than the Valyrian swords or all the dragonglass in...

Re: Game of Thrones season 8 starting.. excited peeps?

I found episode 2 sets to be very dark so that the characters' faces were almost invisible. Is it just my TV or is there a lack of expenditure on set lighting? I think the entirety was filmed in such a way, in an attempt to portray that Winter is most definitely Coming. Dark forebodings or words to...

(Ahem.) 4d is my recollection. You may well be right, a comment on that website suggests so but on another page someone mentions 2d. And yes, it was standard practice among us kids to press button B on every occasion, on the offchance that the machine might cough up some cash. Same thing with choco...

Difficult to say by month ... Agreed and I had intended to follow up with further Polls (to cover which day, where, what specialist wines are available etc) but June 2019*** is the clear winner at present, unless people change their votes or others attempt to sway the results. How about a Thursday ...

Back in the days of less reliable Strowger and other mechanical exchanges, you would want to know that you had been connected correctly before pressing the "A" button or inserting your sixpence. Sixpence? I thought it was a couple of pennies. A random jog down memory lane: https://www.190...

Re: Buying beer via the web.

So, interesting what you say about BB's at Beerhawk. Did the close-to-expiry issue crop up more than expected, i.e. more broadly, than you had anticipated? I can't really assist further on Beerhawk, as I didn't do the ordering nor look at the website and, for all I know, the expiry dates may have b...

Re: Buying beer via the web.

The one time we used Beerhawk, the use by dates were nearly up. Overall the beers we ordered were disappointing but that may have been down to poor ordering on our part.

Of the darker beers you ordered, are you able to name them specifically? We don’t mind giving most things a try!

I was under the impression a second attempt would cancel the first. I recall receiving an unthanked notification in the past, which was preceded by a thank. Despite your mention of subtle rec-tarting, I’m forced to give it a bash in an attempt to replicate. Edit: Yes - double clicking ends up with a...

... The "family folio" on the old TMF site was interesting to me because it contained several companies that met my twin investment criteria of low debt (gearing) and earned a lot of money (high operating margin). I don't think this is a coincidence since family firms are often well run b...

I recall the old form was to ask people to check the thanking system on your post but I'm not going to fall for that one.

Do you wish to point to where you were unable to thank (or maybe you want to keep it secret)?

HMRC are working on an API for Trusts and Estates to do this. Thanks Parky but I wrote the OP on 6 April 2017, with paper Tax Returns on the way to me, and back then it didn’t exist, despite Q20 on the Returns. At least, as per my last post on this thread, they’ve addressed the issue with updates not presently being available. Thanks PD - I think I missed the...
