Re: Broadband via 4G -- attaching a home phone?

I've recently gone down this route, with a Huawei B618 and a Smarty SIM currently £18.75 per month for unlimited calls, text and data. Got rid of my landline rental and have attached existing landline phones to the router via a small RJ11 to POTS adapter - less than £2 from ebay. Works brilliantly! ...

Re: HYPTUSS Data

I've noticed issues with the prices on Yahoo Finance since Tuesday including PHP (Primary Health Properties), STS (Securities Trust of Scotland) and SDV (Chelverton Small Companies). Prices seems to be correct when the market is closed, but during trading hours the prices are sometimes wrong . bail...

Re: Hansteen Holdings (HSTN)

Thanks for that 77ss.

I note from a press article from some time ago, that Hansteen have a 'buy low, sell high' policy on it's property assets - which presumably accounts for the multiple returns of capital (and I assume some previous capital raising). Historic yield is now 6.68%.

Hansteen Holdings (HSTN)

Full year results for Hansteen are due on Monday. This one has been on my watchlist for a while but I have never bought. I note that the return of capital last year was not received well (on this forum at least). The half year results last year seemed OK, but the share price has been under 100p ever...

Re: New HYPTUSS versions 11.65 and b-j

Many thanks for the update and new features. I really like the snapshot tool - very useful for looking back - thank you. One very minor issue: I'm using the Libre Office version and have found that the 'Week Ahead' pulls up a webpage that creates an error on the IC website. For example the current w...

Re: Hansteen Return of Capital

Yesterday's results led to a 5% drop in the share price. Now down to 98p this morning.

Interim dividend increased to 2.4p, although I expected a drop due to the return of capital.

Historic yield now over 6%.

I don't hold, but I'm quite tempted.

What's not to like?

Re: International Biotech (IBT)

Thanks to all for the feedback. I'm not sure how well sites like Simply Wall Street are able to assess investment trusts, but I seem to recall that the last dividend did include a small amount from capital which was he first time that had happened. The price has shot up about 10% since I added it to...

International Biotech (IBT)

Does anyone hold this IT? I have been considering it for a while now. Like European Assets (EAT), every year it resets it's dividend to a percentage of it's NAV - 4% - although I think that this is a fairly recent move. I'm interested as it is currently yielding more than Astrazeneca at around 3.5% ...

Re: Blackrock North American Income (BRNA)

Thanks to Lootman and CP for their thoughts and insights.

I might look at BRNA again in a few months, but share CP's thoughts that there may be better income opportunities to look at.

Thanks

Blackrock North American Income (BRNA)

Blackrock North American Income (BRNA) recently increased their quarterly dividend from 1.25p to 2p. Based on a share price of 158p, this is a yield of 5%. Re: REIT's

You could look at DIGS (GCP Student Property) for student accommodation and PHP (Primary Healthcare Properties) for GPs' surgeries. SGRO covers warehousing. Residential property used to feature in some funds. I don't know if it still does. TJH Yes, there is also Target Healthcare (THRL) for care ho...

Re: REIT's

Given that the likes of British Land, Land Securities are diverse multi billion GBP portfolios themselves, how much diversification do you want or need in a REIT? Ideally I was looking for more global exposure. Or maybe more diverse holdings, such as student accommodation, care homes, hospitals, re...

Hi OLTB and Alaric,

Many thanks for your replies. It looks like ETF's are the only pool of REIT's available.

Re: HYPTUS v11.31 Run-time error 5

I am getting the same error as NeilW using the LibreOffice version (using just the default BP entry). Windows 10 and LibreOffice Portable Version: 5.4.1.2.

Thanks for all the efforts in resolving this.

Re: Dogs of the FTSE?

I think that MIDAS in the Mail on Sunday followed this strategy in the 2000's. It worked well until the market downturn in 2008 and then made huge losses because the banks featured quite heavily. There are probably some old articles out there from that time.
