Re: TMF tip - Fresnillo - what am I missing?

OK - note I have no investment in Fresnillo and just trying to learn ... what I do see from a quick google is quite a few negatives about recent performance as a miner - poorer grades, extra investment in facilities required etc. - all leading to more costs and less margin.

Re: TMF tip - Fresnillo - what am I missing?

Ok my point was that it is slowly growing revenue company, profits have varied, at a P/E of 23 it's expensive, it's facing some regulatory issues and an increasingly demanding Mexican government according to some reports. I don't have a "problem" as you put it with the share - I just don't...

Re: TMF tip - Fresnillo - what am I missing?

Damn! Why can't I edit that post once more to correct some typos and add a bit more beef to the analsysi (e.g., assets and EV).
What have I done or am doing wrong!?

TMF tip - Fresnillo - what am I missing?

Folks - like many (I guess) I receive the emails promoting the Motley Fool tip service - and I suspect like many of us I have a soft spot for TMF even though I never took out any of their paid services plus at least I feel their "tips" are not trying to sell me anything - they're just sell...

Leaving UK to avoid a Corbyn government!?

(Apologies if this is wrong place for this post but could not find a better home or previous similar discussions) Folks Suppose there's a general election and Corbyn gets in with a good majority ... I see carnage ahead. He and McDonnell have said they would re-nationalise utilities, given 10% of lar...

Re: Yahoo historical data - broken

Well blow me down!!! A response and a result from Yahoo! I tried tweeting to Liza Scherzer (suggested above) but despite her alledged role of "Personal Finance Editor" she is more interested in tweeting about random things, Trump etc and not responding to financial matters and errors in th...

Re: Yahoo historical data - broken

I've often found Yahoo stock data/info to be either late, erroneous or just missing! If you use an iPhone or iPad for instance and use the new "upgraded" Stocks app you will find things have got worse IMHO compared to the previous app - both run on Yahoo data but the app has been changed a...

Re: Yellow Cake Flotation

And an update on Cameco - they have won a court verdict which cleared them of wrong-doing on tax related to transfer pricing etc. which boosted the SP last week by some 14%. This decision is appealable by the Canadian tax authorities in the following 30 days but if this is not the case, then one of ...

Re: help with easy to access dividend data

Disappointed to say that I've had no reply (gave email and mobile no) to a request at dividenddata.co.uk for some info on who is behind this web site and who compiles the data and how ... after 2 requests and a month later I guess they don't wish to respond.

Expenditure tracking spreadsheet

It's probably my incompetence (or lack of patience perhaps!) with searching on the LemonFool but I cannot find: - a spreadsheet template for expenditure - that I can use to enter and track expenditure over a few years - to establish a baseline for expenditure in retirement. Anyone know of one - befo...

Re: help with easy to access dividend data

I've emailed them and asked but I also suggested that if they want to attract/keep users (and they seem to want to do so as they are trying to get some advertising revenue) they would perhaps do better if users knew who was behind it, who is doing the (manual extraction from annual reports they say!...

Re: help with easy to access dividend data

May I ask who or what is behind www.dividenddata.co.uk/ ?

I cannot find anywhere on the site who compiles the data (which is said to be done manually from annual reports etc.) or who the publisher is.

FTSE100 and 250 stocks - list with fundamentals

Folks Digitallook and some other web sites with listing and screening tools have been changing and I am finding it hard to do what I seem to recall was quite easy to do - get a FTSE100 or FTSE250 list of stocks with basic fundamentals (P/E, yield, dividend history etc.). Am thinking of doing a varia...

Interesting half-year report from an asset manager that talks about CAMECO (CCJ on NYSE and CCO.TO on Toronto).

More confirmation bias!

Re: Yellow Cake Flotation

Thanks Commissar (is your nickname a reference I should recognise? I feel it is but can't put my finger on it!) It's one of many positive articles I've read and I'm worried about confirmation bias! But I think the basic premise of uranium investing at the moment IS sound. Renewables aren't going to ...

Re: Yellow Cake Flotation

Update - here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2018/08/10/investment-fund-yellow-cake-snaps-uranium-float-success/ Yellow Cake has been buying more uranium ... another step in what I believe is a real investment opportunity - the uranium fuel market. Note that I hold CAMECO shares having bought...
