Re: Titan DIY wet and dry hoover offer

A mate of mine bought his wife an extra vacuum cleaner to keep upstairs. It would save her the trouble of lugging one up and down.

He is the same chap that on his Coral anniversary took his wife to the bookies.

Some good suggestions above.

I am listening to The Anglo-Boer War by Des Latham. There are 112 episodes (so far) of 25 minutes or so.

Re: We surely are not alone?

Fabulous video of our Universe and just how utterly insignificant we really are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoW8Tf7hTGA Great video! This one shows firstly how huge we are as it takes on a journey to the super duper small and then how small we are by taking us up the ladder of size. https://ww...

. I sometimes pass people of a similar type going the other way, and 9 times out of 10 we greet each other with a smile, but that never happens with `serious' Lycra-clad cyclists , who generally look as though they're in pain, crouched over their bars and peering through their alien style goggles. ...

Re: Recommendations on investment platforms

I have investments using AJ Bell, but would like to use a different provider for a different set of investments (for my father). Any recommendations about which is best - I'm interested both in low-cost and how easy it is to deal with the site - likely that I'll just be making a few investments, an...

Re: Extinction Rebellion Demands

The three main aims of XR are (according to BBC website) 1 - The government must declare a climate "emergency" thats easy, we are all used to meaningless platitudes from those in authority so an emergency can be declared I suppose 2 - The UK must legally commit to reducing carbon emission...

do they have proposals for specific actions? good questions. Does the government (or govts in waiting) have anything more concrete either? (I couldn't find anything with a very quick google) didds Quite. I cannot imagine there are many people who do not think the zero carbon is a good idea, but the...

Re: Storage heaters - replace, upgrade or live with?

When building our extension, I opted for infra-red panel heaters instead of extending the wet system or having conventional electric convection heaters. After a lot (I mean a lot, I can tend to overdo the research phase) I settled on https://www.warm4less.com/ as a supplier. Panels can be wall or ce...

Re: Running (and jogging) regimes

However, look at those Kenyan runners, no shoes in training and they run Marathons daily. Agreed, we are all built differently and they grew up like that. It is certainly true that some people manage perfectly well running barefoot as they have a neutral foot strike and no muscle, ankle, knee or hi...

Hoping to get advice on people's strategies to embed running into their routine, as well as hints and tips on suitable gear. Having run probably 100 or more marathons and ultra-marathons (including one 100 miler) I may have some insight into your question.
