Re: revert win10 upgrade

If nothing else, using the reset option will enable you to determine if Windows 10 runs okay on the laptop when it is completely 'cleaned' of third-party apps.... But do bear in mind that for the purposes of a Reset, the definition of a '3rd-party app' is EVERYTHING that is not included in a clean ...

Re: revert win10 upgrade

...an update, such as 1809, may take several days/weeks to install... Yes, that is one possibility. Technically it's not actually installing anything in those days/weeks, it's 'preparing to install' by downloading the upgrade files. This will be some 2-3GB, hence the long time needed. Only when the...

Re: Blocking Win10 Updates - Temporarily

My wife has a Win 10 laptop which she needs for work... Does she have Windows 10 Home or Pro? Both versions have the Active Hours feature that Watis told you about. This is the primary means to prevent a restart happening at an inconvenient time. However that just stops the Restart required to fini...

Re: revert win10 upgrade

its a L360-264. It was 7 home premium for what that's worth. I can see its got 3Gb RAM so it should be fine for win10 I guess. Typo? I can only find an L3 5 0-264. According to Toshiba that machine was supplied with 32-bit Win7 Home Premium. http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/satellite-...

Re: revert win10 upgrade

If I revert the laptop to a previous version of win10, will it subsequently provide via the same procedure a chance to revert to the original win7 installation? No. Originally the option to revert to Windows 7 was available for 30 days after the initial upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7. After t...

No, don't forget about it - just start unitising from today onwards. Calculation units as you go along is no real effort at all. It's only if you try to work it back in time that you get headaches.

Re: Unitisation question

I've always been meaning to look into this unitisation lark, but never had the time. I have a spreadsheet containing data for all my trades, corporate actions and dividends, covering my 6 different trading accounts. But I did not keep track of the cash flows in and out of the accounts, as I treated...

Re: British American Tobacco - Second Half Pre-Close Trading Update 2018

According to HL's website, someone sold over £26m worth of IMB at 16.35 today. I wonder who that was. I've suddenly lost my appetite. It is not a 'someone', it is an amalgamation of many smaller trades. This happens every day at 16:35, and to every ft100 share too. It's the SETS auction, ot...

Re: British American Tobacco - Second Half Pre-Close Trading Update 2018

The fact that tobacconists nearly all morfed into general newsagents or corner shops probably supports what I'm saying: that vaping shops will eventually pass into history. These days, I recall only seeing "tobac" in foreign lands, though I suppose a few may still exist here. Playing Devi...

Re: Laptop battery failure, under guarantee, deal with shop or HP?

John Lewis are usually good with their guarantees. If the diagnostics say the battery is dead then there should be no quibble. FYI, although the battery on a modern laptop is often internal, it can still easily be replaced. See this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB1c9EVswX8 At a minimum I...

PS does anyone know how in the table formatting, how I can show a double row blue header colour? Put all your header text on one row. Word-wrap is built in to the TABLE format. Text rows will word-wrap only if required to keep a table width within the width of a post. eg: L=Company Name||Ticker|| Y...
