Re: Local Radio

Slightly confused by the title of the post. Are we discussing "commercial radio" or "local" radio or maybe "commercial local radio". Of course commercial just = with adverts. I don't know why but I've always disliked radio adverts more than TV adverts. Some TV adverts a...

Re: BREXIT

BREXIT; THE STORY SO FAR. (written by Toby Lewis) David Cameron made a promise he didn't think he'd have to keep to have a referendum he didn't think he would lose. Boris Johnson decided to back the side he didn't believe in because he didn't think it would win. Then Gove, who said he wouldn't run, ...

Re: The Beer You Are Drinking Right Now

Roosters is a reasonable well established - 20 odd years - brewery that make free range beers. What's a "free range" beer? Hops hopping around the farmyard? Scott. Found this line in an article The brewery has also adopted the strapline - "Free Range beers from Yorkshire" to ref...

Re: The Beer You Are Drinking Right Now

Had the best beer I''ve had in a while last night... Roosters Distant Sun Roosters is a reasonable well established - 20 odd years - brewery that make free range beers. Seem to generally be one of the new breed hop obsessed breweries but this brew is a departure from that. Appears to be very new, no...

Re: BREXIT

I think the two out of the five who voted Leave, did so because of their preoccupation with convenience - easy European holiday travel. The three of us who voted Leave, did so, because we saw a broader global picture and were concerned about loss of sovereignty, control of our borders etc. This is ...

Re: The Beer You Are Drinking Right Now

Wetherspoons have their ales priced at £1.85 in my regular. With my 50p off CAMRA vouchers I paid for £1.35 each for a pint of Oakham Inferno and Concrete Cow Cock'n'Bull (Locale). That is insane. Would generally cost more to buy a bottle in a supermarket. The Inferno was in great condition, the C'n...

Re: The Beer You Are Drinking Right Now

Goose Island IPA is a terrific beer IMO but I bought a couple of bottles of Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale recently. Thought it was pretty terrible. No fruitiness, a bit bitter and unpleasant. I'm a big fan of wheat beers but this just didn't float my boat at all. * Just had a look on Rate Beer an...

Decent match. Bit cagey at times, understandably.

Re: Harvesting feedback from happy customers

I was looking for a new heating enginee recently. One port of call was a website called nextdoor.com that a lot of people post asking for recs. I just search the recent history or post myself. Then there is a local facebook group that works similarily. Then there are google reviews and things like t...

Re: Leave win referendum but Remain triumph. What next?

It's not a second referendum. It's the first referendum on "The Deal" versus Remain. It's an entirely different question. It was always the case that the actual deal under which we would leave was not known. People voted accordingly, knowing that. It was a vote on principle rather than ta...

Re: Leave win referendum but Remain triumph. What next?

Remain has already been rejected by the electorate. So a referendum on May's deal or WTO. No problem with that question. Running with my anology above... that's like: Me: "Staying is no longer an option. Going out, means going out!I am now going to offer you Cinema/Nandos or we get a sandwich ...

It's not a second referendum. It's the first referendum on "The Deal" versus Remain. It's an entirely different question. It's like me saying to you "shall we go out?" and you saying "yes, I'd like to go out" but then I tell you we are going to the cinema and eating din...

Which God?

What do you mean by "created"?

colin wrote:which would then allow evolution by means of natural selection to proceed.

So God created a framework and left us to it?

So God no longer exerts any influence over the universe?

Good for you Dod.

With having two children and me and the wife working full time and trying to maintain some sort of social life it's really difficult to nail down the family and personal finances. I feel it's really important to keep on top of things.
