Re: Musk endeavours

Can Musk deal with the social media experience and not cause more trouble either by tweeting stuff that gets him trouble and/or not reacting to what are potentially baited traps to make him do just this. To be fair Ody, what with this latest tweet regarding the diver, and his recent antics during t...

Here is a useful summary from Honest John

About halfway down the page there is specific advice on VAG systems.

Redsturgeon, thank you for your help to move my post here. :) Hi kat, How are you getting on with this. I notice you having been clicking the thumbs up "thanks" button a few times. Are you trying to find what it does? :) If you just click it once then you have thanked the other user. If y...

Re: VW dpf - plea for advice

My son's Golf GTI (done just over 100,000 miles, and averaging 40 miles/day normal commuting), has been diagnosed as having a blocked dpf, because it is mucking up one of the sensors, apparently. He has been quoted £1400 to replace, or £800 to clean the existing dpf. Is cleaning 100% guaranteed? Wi...

Would many vote for a second preference though? John Why not - the system is used in mayoral elections, Scottish local council elections and in NI for both the NI assembly and European parliament elections. I'm just considering the practicalities though. How do you force voters to make a second pre...

Re: Reupholster a settee

Since then we gave one away through freecycle and still have the other in use in a spare room...it will shortly have to go soon. I will try to recycle it but I fear it may have to be dumped...which will probably mean me paying for someone to take it away! As long as it's got its foam fire safety ce...

Re: Musk endeavours

Will be interesting to see if Musk's mini sub can make it to the cave as he says he intends to do with supporting video. The reports of cave dimensions & such from various supposedly informed sources are now so at odds that I have no idea who is closest to the truth. The whole saga has slipped ...

Re: Reupholster a settee

We had two three seat sofas from John Lewis reupholstered by Plumbs some 12 years ago. They were about twelve years old at the time. They were built with solid beech frames so we felt it worthwhile to extend their lives. It cost about £500 each for them the be reupholstered...actually more of a reco...

Re: Musk endeavours

A small narrow passage is not that difficult to get through for small skinny boys, when it is dry. When flooded it becomes a totally different game. As has been said, they were forced back into the cave by the rising flood water. It was not their intention to go so far in. Musk had a few days to com...

Re: Future trading relationship UK & EU

I would agree with all your points Ody and would add that anyone who thought the the USA had some especially favourable deal lined up for the UK post Brexit must surely by now have realised that Trump has his sights on any country who exports more to the US than imports from them and the UK is such ...

Re: The effects of NATO matters

I was under the impression that Turkey is a member of NATO and hosts a number of US bases. It has a considerable coastline on the Black Sea. There is no comparison with an operation by Russia in the Caribbean. TJH As I said, it is sometimes worth taking the Russian perspective and I think if you di...

Stormy Daniels' strip club arrest charges dropped BBC News That didn't last long. Fascinating reading about this case. It is interesting to look at NATO's actions from the Russian perspective sometimes. https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2018/07/12/sea-breeze-2018-who-wants-disrupt-strategic-balance-in-black-sea-region.html Operation Sea Breeze currently ongoing in the Black Sea US led involving 29 warships, a s...

Normally Landrovers. I need a car that I can use for gigs. I can get my keyboard and PA system in as well as one or two passengers.

Of course you know who owns JLR...or do you only run vintage ones.
