Re: Micro Focus International (MCRO)

Somebody over on HYP Practical suggested I add these to my HYP recently. That was me Ian. It was on my own shortlist as a likely contender for the proceeds from the Greene King takeover! My notes on the watchlist say something about "FTSE100 share with HYPesque forecast yield, covered by earni...

Looks like I’m too late but I was going to suggest Micro Focus.

Just to add to the discussion, one can also receive an online dealing discount of 30% if one holds at least 500 shares in the parent company Share Plc (SHRE).

Registered Keeper not the main driver

I am the registered keeper and main driver of our current car (1). We are about to buy a second car (2); at which point my wife will then be the main driver of car 1 and I will be the main driver of new car 2.

Am I obliged to change the registered keeper of car 1 from my name to hers?

Re: Unshopping

Unshopping - yes, I know about this. Someone I know has just ordered two different sizes of the same article and will return the one that doesn't fit. Is that morally reprehensible? The problem being that a previous purchase surprised somewhat in it's voluminous generosity but the purchaser kept it...

Investors Chronicle Income Majors

There's an interesting feature in this week's IC discussing the FTSE 100's largest and highest-paying dividend shares. I gather this is a a yearly article: this year BT and AstraZeneca were dropped from the list and Lloyds and British American Tobacco were added. The ten shares featured in the artic...

Re: Hypster's HYP (July 2018 Top-Up)

Pinch, punch and all that. Here are the first five in my top-up rankings. Persimmon is due to issue a trading statement on Thursday. The price has fallen around 12% in the last four weeks pushing the forecast yield up to a lofty 9%. I do wonder if the market is expecting the capital return plan to b...

Re: Hypster's HYP (June Top-Up)

With additional cash being invested into my HYP last week, I topped up SSE and BT on 1st June. I'm still watching Marks & Spencer. As of 1st June the portfolio looks like this: L=Ticker||Name||Sector||f’cast Yield||f’cast Cover||Value Weighting||Top-up Rank L=PSN||Persimmon||Household Goods &...

I might be topping up RDSB with my June investment. It’s currently in fourth place in the rankings but things do change at the top. I’ll decide nearer the time.

Re: BT Group Fourth Quarter Results

Hi Ian, BT already represents 6% of my HYP so is excluded from top-ups for a while. However, if it were eligible for top-ups I would do so. I do get where you're coming from Hypster. I like a bargain too. Are they one of your largest holdings then? If so, of how many different holdings? As I mentio...

Re: Topped up BT.A

It was a great day to top-up. Do you target cash holdings at a particular level for opportunities like this to come along? As my HYP is in the building phase I can't resist investing as soon as I have enough cash for a top-up.

Re: Hypster's HYP (May Top-up)

The Vodafone and ITV top-ups went through last week and the small change from the deals took my accumulated cash to an economical level for another top-up. On the day, National Grid was in pole position and was duly topped up. I'm thinking of bringing Marks and Spencer on board to double up in the G...

Re: Hypster's HYP (May Top-up)

It's been an interesting week watching the developments surrounding the Sky takeover situation. Sky's forecast yield is now down to 2.6% but the capital appreciation in the short time I've held it has been superb. Regarding my next top-ups, I'm continuing in the methodology mentioned last month: tho...
