Funny you should say that, I've been seeing similar issues with our local (and accursed) pigeons.

Re: Small Dedicated Computer

I just found this tutorial for creating a Ubuntu usb stick: https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu#4 Can I follow the instructions here and create a bootable usb stick and then try it both on my Vostro and MacbookAir? Do I need any additional information to open...

Try joining the National Trust where you get a choice of - ........... HRH HRH Crown Prince HRH the Duke of ........... Rt Hon Dr (Female) Rt Hon Dr (Male) ........ Re: Tory Leadership

Based on what I have seen on TV and heard on radio over the last week, my two are Gove and Stewart. HYD That would be my choice, they both seem to have a sensible degree of realism and pragmatism. I used to dislike Gove but he's gone up in my esteem over the past few years. And Stewart seems refres...

Re: Walking off the weekday worries

I think the principle is fine, but the idea of driving from London to Scotland's hills for a weekend is not what I would class as de-stressing. Doing that in the friday rush hour would turn me into a gibbering wreck.

Re: This will not help the Conservative vote - TV licences

What irks me is that the state pension increases by a modest c 2.4%, but things like TV licence, council tax, utilities etc invariably increase by much larger amounts. I think the state pension increases are linked to CPI or RPI, and I suspect that TV licence, council tax etc are part of CPI/RPI. S...

Re: Always someone elses fault

If half the crime is caused by drinkers and half the crime by people in cars, then the obvious thing to do is to put all the drinkers in cars and then the crime rate will halve. I imagine this will come just after tax cuts for the rich in Johnson's leadership bid launch later today. DM From a comed...

Another one from my Assynt holiday - the Kylesku Bridge looking from the NW, with Quinag behind Its a magnificent bridge, especially to those of us who remember (pre 1984) having to wait patiently for the ferry, which always seemed stuck at the other side - and a 100 mile detour was not an option. ...

Re: Universal Coverage

Now I appreciate that delivery to Lochinver may take a bit longer than to Central Scotland. But why 4 to 10 days? Did they plan to set off someone walking to Lochinver, carrying my purchase? Simple.... the drivers normally deliver to boring urban centres like Glasgow or Leeds or whatever. Given the...

I'm with BT and I think I'll be moving. My previous deal for line, BB, anytime calls and international calls was £29 per month. Just pushed them as hard as I could and the best offer was £38 per month (from their standard rate of £54 per month). BB is unlimited ADSL, don't have fibre in my street, b...

I used to use Digital Look for forecast yields then dropped it when it was taken over by Sharecast -- which too laborious now. I then used morningstar which was much better but it too is starting lose its usefulness with me as the data is getting more stale and out of date. What is the current favo...

I keep trying the low/non alcohol beers and I'm generally disappointed. Re: Cutting the top out of a holly tree?

We have two holly trees in our garden and I have over the years pruned them back fairly hard several times without paying attention to the time of year, 'pruning when the knife is sharp' as I think the Greeks put it. They seem to do well after pruning with a profusion of new growth, in fact I was l...

I don't see this problem. I took a fresh copy of 11.52 (on 64-bit windows 10 and Excel 2010), added your shares and then deleted the default BP. Updating prices from Yahoo or yields from Digital Look worked normally. It looks like your copy is corrupted. My guess is that Cell D6 has somehow become f...
