Re: Don't use favourites for bank account access?

So the solution was given to you in the first response you got (from mc2fool), why didn't you try that two days ago, post back here with the results and save us all who susequently posted a load of wasted time? Without wishing to be rude, there's a pattern to your posts in this regard. You get given...

Re: Don't use favourites for bank account access?

I also have a savings account so I tried that. The Payments and Transfers page was the same there, just the headers and menus on the right but not the important payments options on the left to select a recipient. I tried CTRL+Refresh and the payments menu showed! I then went to my current account an...

Re: Don't use favourites for bank account access?

I had a problem this morning using Chrome to access my bank account. I could log in and go to the payments and transfers page but the important data on the left didn't show, only the heading and option menu on the right. I usually use Chrome but it must have had a strange glitch to show only part o...

Don't use favourites for bank account access?

I had a problem this morning using Chrome to access my bank account. I could log in and go to the payments and transfers page but the important data on the left didn't show, only the heading and option menu on the right. I phoned the bank who asked if I had used my favorites, which I had, and she sa...

Re: FTP problem with TSOhost

My IP is very different today starting with the usual 109 but when I had the timeout ftp problem it started with 86 which was what TSO host used to white-list me. I haven't disconnected my router, so why has the IP changed, unless there was a power cut overnight?

Re: FTP problem with TSOhost

Well, it's not likely to happen with my current IP which has been white-listed, but I suppose I could be unlucky in future with a different IP.

Re: Nationwide to end login with memorable data

Without requiring any further input, the CAP reader interacts with the smartcard to produce a decimal one-time password, which can be used, for example, to log into a banking website. I understand that bit, but how does the bank's server recognise the number generated by the card reader? Does the b...

FTP problem with TSOhost

Recently I found that I couldn't ftp my websites at TSOhost, although popups said that I was connected, starting session and reading remote directory but then got time outs with error messages saying the remote server wasn't responding. TSO host asked for my IP and white-listed me and now I can ftp....

Nationwide to end login with memorable data

Nationwide sent me an email yesterday saying that logging into my current account using memorable data will cease on 28th November. I will be able to use either a text code by mobile phone (I don't have a mobile phone) or use the card reader. The card reader is more inconvenient than memorable data ...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

Dividends should be included in next year's tax statement, even if not shown individually, so I'm not worried at the moment. ii don't do tax statements for ISAs and SIPPs. Does anyone? I agree that ISA and SIPP dividends aren't important, but any income received by a broker should be recorded and a...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

Interesting that point. ATS should maybe have given you a summary up to the date the system changed, maybe they will. I never bothered with their statements as I recorded receipt of dividends as they were paid. Good luck. You will be able to reconstruct them though if you have not made too many cha...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

For wickham, I agree that the transfer from ATS is simply the balance as far as I can see, and the facility that I mentioned will only apply for new dividends received after the transfer. I guess that it is assumed, not unreasonably, that you will have the records from ATS yourself. I know that I r...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

For wickham, if he looks on the II page, click portfolio and under transaction history he will get details of how the cash in that account is made up but I do not know if that helps with the balance being moved over from ATS. Dod That shows no transactions over the past year for me, even though the...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

Having said that my ATS account was transferred OK, that's true for the current status but I can only see a gross total of cash, not a list of previous dividends which went into my Deposit account. I understand that cash in the ATS online trading account and in any individual share account is now me...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

I don’t know about trading security, but I notice that I am only asked for my full userID and full password, which seems not terribly secure. Yes, I noticed that and thought that either a few characters of the password should be asked for, or a second security question. Hargreaves Lansdown require ...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

All transferred OK for me. About two weeks ago I set up my ii account with ATS username and password and then tried to set up a trading account, but couldn't because I haven't got a mobile phone and the process stalled (see previous post). Now I find that trading seems to be possible without setting...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

I have a mobile phone, but my difficulty with using it for authenticating financial transactions is the lack of signal in my house. I have to go up to the attic whenever I need to use it! Can you not set it to work on WIFI? I found EE's wifi interface helpful when I was on holiday in Devon and had ...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

I used the link on a ATS email to log in to ii website. I checked my personal details and found one, country of birth, was missing so I entered it, scrolled down to submit but it would not save because two red lined boxes for mobile phone were empty. I don't have a mobile phone so ii won't be able ...

Re: Alliance Trust Savings taken over by Interactive Investor

Have you called them to ask what the mechanism is for those without a mobile? There may well be one lurking in a not so obvious place on their website. They are aware of the problem but haven't dealt with it yet. The call centre lady entered my country of birth but I still found that I couldn't sav...
