Testing the SOA Calculator posting here

Postby Clariman » November 4th, 2016, 10:01 am

The SOA Calculator on stoozing.com allows the output to be copied into TMF, MSE and Stoozing website formats. This is checking to see if the Stoozing format works here.

OK, so some tidying up needed here but the basics are all there still :)

I've been reading and commenting elsewhere on boards using phpbb software.

Unless there's something that isn't generally known, it doesn't cope terribly well with stuff that needs to be in a table format.

Using the "code" tag will sometimes help.

Code: Select all

Monthly income after tax................ 1500
Partners monthly income after tax....... 1000

Thanks Alaric

I wrote the calculator about 10 years ago I think and managed to create formatted output that created tables when pasted into TMF, MSE and Stoozing.com (which used YaBB at the time). I am sure this new php forum must have similar controls. I'll just need to re-teach myself Javascript so I can update my calculators!

I've just looked at the help. Yes it appears you are right - that Code is the way to do it. Not very elegant though but will do the job.

Cheers

Perhaps, when you get the time, the SOA Calculator should no longer mention Motley Fool format. In any event, maybe a sticky with a link to it in DwD might assist.

Thanks PD. Indeed, you are right. When I get round to updating it for here, I'll remove the TMF bit.
