Apologies about the locking out. I've passed it to Stooz to take a look at. Stick with us.

Yeah, and I just tried the Windscribe VPNs and managed to connect through Atlanta, Vancouver, Istanbul and Bucharest -- but not through Windscribe's two (free) London VPNs. Not exactly brilliant for a UK site  (with no malice to anyone from the cities listed...)

Bottom line: it's capricious, and I predict you everyone will find that "A ban has been issued on your IP address" sooner or later, as things stand. :(

You are right :) I just tried connecting via London on NordVPN and:

You have been banned from this board until Today, 9:52 pm.

Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.

A ban has been issued on your IP address.

My popular UK ISP IP address has been banned from this morning until around 10pm tonight.

Currently logged in using Opera and an 'Americas' VPN, just to post about the issue.

As mc2fool has stated earlier in the thread, the site looks to currently be broken in terms of it's new overzealous Firewall.

Cheers,

Hi all,
dont worry its being looked at.

Interestingly I am also banned and I dont use a VPN.

As you can see I am still posting, simply by continuing trhough the login process.

I am looking at a solution now

Doesn't work for me. I can get to and fill in the login form but then it just takes me back to "You have been banned from this board until Today, 9:52 pm."

BTW. the mailto link in "Please contact the Board Administrator for more information " is to noreply@lemonfool.co.uk.

I have disabled the spam checker for now, but I can't remove the 24 hour bans so please be patient. I will ee if I can remove them at a database level.

Opera through their "Americas" VPN. Firefox with no VPN continues to ban me.

It didn't work for me either, AND please note it is most irritating to be directed to contact a "No Reply" email address.

Hmmm, I'm also banned until 9:52pm today (which was more than half an hour ago). Having to access via a French VPN.

Log in again. (Worked for me -- once 9:52pm had passed -- at least.)

Personally I have sympathy with @stooz.

Upgrades are seldom trouble-free, something always breaks. And clearly he is still working to resolve the issue and is very accessible, posting updates himself on the site.

Thanks for this great resource, @stooz, and hopefully it all gets sorted without too much trouble.

The noreply address is the genetic account on the system.
When we put address on, I just got bombarded with spam. Around 7000 emails a day.
I will see if I can split this error tool from the general system.

As posted on other places, you are welcome to chase me on stooz @ this site domain name

Bless you stooz! I'm sure that the majority of lemonfool members greatly appreciate your efforts to resolve the current issues and are waiting patiently for normal traffic to resume........and who don't feel the need of making a fuss!

Indeed, publishing an email address where the 'bots can see it is asking for trouble. Though not nearly as bad as it once was.

Perhaps the error message could be purged of any email address, rather than offer something misleading/dysfunctional? But not necessarily a top priority when you're dealing with a range of issues here!

Agreed and understood that putting up an easily extractable address is likely to get it on lots of undesirable lists but also agreed that having one that doesn't work is not just less than useful but very frustrating to users who are already discombobulated by what is happening, and agreed that not having it all would be better than that.

But can't you instead just show it as you do at the bottom of each and every page of the site, or similar? (stooz at lemonfool .co .uk)

The more malevolent of today's bots will easily parse that and spam him.

But they obviously haven't as it's been at the bottom of each and every page of this site since (IIRC) day one and he hasn't removed or changed it yet. ;)

It hasn't been pwned yet anyway...
