I won £75 this month (3 x £25) which went into my bank account earlier in the month, as normal. Last week, I received another £25 win in my account and a letter from NSI saying ...
'The prize has been reallocated because your bond is next in line on the reserve list and the original winner was not eligible to receive the prize'
I've not heard of this happening before, and it's a pity I wasn't the reserve for the big one, but every little helps.

I've had one of those letters a while ago. When I asked, I seem to recall I was told it was due to another bond holder who was allocated a prize becoming ineligible for the prize draw etc. If you want to know the month and year of your "rediscovered" PB prize, you can tell by the first 3 digits of the long payment reference (e.g. Mar 2021 was 766, Feb 2021 was 765)

I was wondering why a bond might be ineligible for the draw, and came across this can of worms:

Thanks for that, I'd forgotten again. £25+£25+100 on a single full holding.

Yeah!

1 x £25.

First win since upping holding for negligible to £15.3k late last year.

So I now know my bonds aren't stuck to the bottom of the machine :D

I got nearly 2% in 2018 and 2019 (I do calendar not rolling or tax tyears) but really seems to have died off, even before the 'interest' rate reduction

Well, as of this morning, I have already exceeded to pathetic returns offered by a HSBC savings account. Hope I'm lucky again :-)

Only £25 again on full holding. Very disappointing.

Well, it's better than negative interest rates - where we log in every month to find out how many bonds they've deleted

"again"? This time last year I had already won thirteen prizes, this year - one.

£125 total on two full holdings. A tad more than the expected return.

That's the trouble with truly random outcomes and very, very low interest rates... long runs of zilch are more likely
