Bank transfers
When I make UK money transfers far larger than my bank’s online FPS limit, I have used CHAPS and paid the £30 (cough…splutter.. ) fee. I recently made a similar transfer to Germany and, although not same-day, was charged £9.50. Short of sending a cheque to the UK recipient (typically another bank) or transferring in several smaller FPS-allowable chunks over several days, what please is the best way to do such UK transfers when same-day receipt is not necessary?

Re: Bank transfers
Have a look at
https://transferwise.com
Have used on many occasions while living in Europe. Easy to use. No connection with the company.
Good luck.

Re: Bank transfers
When I had to do a business transfer that broke my bank's limits, I spoke to them first and the authorised the transfer in advance as a one off.
