No fees on First Direct debit cards abroad

Hi Folks,
Just had an email. First Direct will no longer charge fees for using there debit Mastercard abroad. Wonder what brought that on?

Hi,
Could be. I opened a Starling account a while ago so that when I went abroad I would pay no fees but could also put a set amount in the account so if the card was stolen/lost I couldn't lose any more than was there rather than our current accountwhich has more in it. But of course now we can cancel a card through the app and restart it when it is found with ease.

Just realised last time we went abroad was just before the pandemic to China including Wuhan - 'no it wasn't me what did it Guv'
