Just for Info, my AJBell Savings Hub now has a 2-yr savings account offered via Investec at 4.7%.

Interesting how the longer terms offer lower rates or is a 2 year @4.7 going to be the peak

I'm happy to have just moved a matured fixed rate bond (1.61%) to a 2 year fixed rate ISA at 4.25 %! I can't see ISA rates going much higher within the next couple of years.

I find it (un) funny that non ISA rates can be higher than the tax free versions. It's almost like the provider is also a partial taker.

Shawbrook has a 1 year fixed bond also paying 4.70%.

However their 2 year deal is only 4% and other deals up to 7 year fix taper down to 3.36% which seems to suggest they expect rates to fall fairly quickly.

History has shown that the BoE don't do anything quickly

A couple of months ago I rolled a 6month fixed rate MyCommunity Bank bond into a 1 year fix at 4.55%.
There's 4.75% available now https://www.mycommunityfinance.co.uk/savings

Not established names AFAIK but these are all one year fixed rates:

Smartsave are paying 4.82% on £10-85k.

Vanquis bank 4.81% - £1-250k

Oxbury 4.75% - £1-500k

So yes it does seem to be getting competitive.

That looked quite attractive until you see that the underlying bank is Turkish. I know its FCS protected, but do people really want to have money invested with an institution based in a country that might be in meltdown in a few weeks if Erdogen loses?

Then go for Atom Bank's one year fix at 4.8% :)

Other than AJBell, none of the institutions cited in this topic are known to me. Clearly you can prise a higher rate by going with more esoteric institutions. But I rather like sleeping at night, especially with what is happening in the US with banks recently.

I tend to agree with you and Atom is fine so long as you're happy with app based banking, which I am. I just going to hold fire for another week or so, if central bank rates look to remain plateaued for a bit, a cheeky %5+ might  crop up

AJBell is effectively just a savings "broker" though, and offers fixed term accounts from other banks, some with unfamiliar names like QIB, National Bank of Egypt, Paragon, Tandem etc.

OakNorth, 4.86% https://oaknorth.co.uk/personal-savings/fixed-term/ (And doesn't require an App) ;)
