In May 2019, NS&I stopped using RPI for indexation of index-linked savings certificates (ILSC) and started using CPI, for new ILSC issued after that date.
I have held 5-year ILSC throughout, and have had a good run on RPI, but my last 5-year ILSC indexed to RPI has just matured and automatically rolled over into an equivalent ILSC but now indexed to CPI.
It's been a good run on RPI recently, and made hay while the RPI sun was shining (I reckon the annual rate of RPI peaked at about 14% in Oct 2022), but now it's onto CPI, and all my ILSC are now index-linked to CPI.

And not only that but we are no longer it would seem allowed to access the principal until the end of the full term, not even with loss of interest.

And this makes them (slightly) less useful as part of an emergency fund.
Best wishes, Steve

Agreed although I have them spread over a number of years and it will take time for all my individual holdings to fall into the new rules.
