Once you've done that, you could append your PB number or numbers to the end of the 'Favourite' page name, so something like -

Premium Bonds prize checker | NS&I - 543442118

Then, when you next open your browser and navigate to that Prize-Checker URL, you can then click the blue star on the URL bar once it's opened, and it'll normally then show the small 'Favourite' configuration window, where you'd then be able to highlight your PB number at the end of the Favourite description, and copy and paste it into the prize-checker box.

Clever, although it only takes me 3-4 seconds to key in the 11 digit number anyway. I have so many userids and passwords that I have a list of them on a piece of paper on my desk, always at hand.

I do not know about NS&I but a couple of sites I use do not allow me to copy and paste a password. You have to manually enter it. A security feature, perhaps?

I've just moved the bulk of our premium bonds to a 1 year RBS bond @ 5.36% paying monthly, in my wife's name, she's a non tax payer.

Haha, I created the "Bond Checker" Alexa skill which can be setup to send a notification on draw results day :D

£50 this month. I had a fixed rate bond mature in October so used some of it to max out the PB holding just before the end of the month. Does this mean that my win will be transferred to my bank account?

Me, too. Won't make much impression on the massive bills I had last month and even more this month.

If it's just for PB prize draw winnings, try the PB prize checker app: https://www.nsandi.com/get-to-know-us/technology/use-mobile-apps. I've recently downloaded it, having held off installing it, and it's quite good and reasonably fully featured (I hope I'm not tempting fate). It also allows more than one PB account to be viewed (which is a useful benefit for me) if you have the PB holder number (not the NS&I number).

Much quicker than going on to their website. Also, you can get the results after midnight on the day before they are available on the website if you are still awake and can't wait to see what you have won. That might keep you awake, however!

I think they have to be owned for a month before entering the draw so I expect you will find that it is one of the older ones which has won.

Thanks both - I have downloaded the app and added my NS&I number such that it will check the holding for winners.

Given the holding will be the max allowable, it will simply be checking what if any paltry sum is heading my way rather than re-investing! :D :D

However, I'll be delaying the bulk of the investment till later this month so as to max the interest on the current cash balance so it will be Jan-24 before the max holding is in the draw.

Yes, the full holding will be eligible from 1 December.

The winning bond this month was from a batch bought just over a year ago. The 3k which was added at the time has delivered 7 wins of between £25 and £100, a better yield than any other batch since I started to buy bonds early in 2020.

My understanding is that I can request encashment of my PBs in advance, so that they qualify for the next draw and are then immediately cashed. Does anyone have experience of how reliable this option is? I need to be certain of the latest date that the funds will get into my bank a/c.

Thanks.

When you request a withdrawal, it asks you if you want to wait till after the next draw.

I'd certainly expect this to be reliable, and for the money to be in your bank account by the 3rd working day of the month. Maybe earlier.

I just made a withdrawal from my Premium Bonds. I made the withdrawal request on the day of the draw, Weds 1st Nov and the funds were credited to my bank account on Friday 3rd Nov. The withdrawn bonds did qualify for the November draw, I checked with NS&I before submitting the withdrawal request.

If the email that NS&I sends you ("Lootman, you've just won. Congratulations!") told you what prizes you had won, then then there would be no need to sign in to discover that. I find that to be annoying.

I see the results are out for December. Someone who's held a £2 bond since 1956 has won £10,000, and someone with £5-worth since 1983 won £50,000...

4 max holdings.

£300, £0, £300, 75.

£675 total.

Only…..I’d made a generous offer to my mid teenage daughter, for whom the bonds are still held in my name and bank account to fund many of her living costs, that she could get a “freebie” this month as it was Xmas month and she could keep whatever came up on her bonds.

And she happened to be one of those £300 wins and gleefully skipped off into town, not yet really grabbing the concept of saving, whilst I remained at home watching the smart meter go round…and round….hoovering up the remaining £375 at a frightening rate.

That's bad luck, the barns. Am pleased to say I won 5 x £100 this month (max. holding) but the pleasure is dimmed somewhat by realising that I am losing almost all the substantial book cost of my 2 ISA holdings in Petrofac. One must have been transferred from my late husband's estate. Acc. to Sod's Law, I've never had so much invested in one company before. If it goes bust, I shall need lots more PB wins to compensate.
Like you, I am aware that my energy bills are rocketing, especially the gas, despite having a new boiler fitted and only heating half the house. £329.25 for the month to 25 Nov. I dread to think what it will be this month now my lawns are permanently white with frost.

Like TheBarns I won £675 but no daughter skipping off to spend the ill gotten gains :D

1 x £500, 3 x £50, 1 x £25 on max holding.

My heating bills are dramatically lower since I moved to a flat from my roomy but draughty house.

Best wishes,

Steve

£250 total on 2 max holdings - the same as last month.
