Re: Premium Bonds
NS&I just announced on Facebook the prize fund is being reduced in November, though they only have a link to the web page with the current rates, so I don't know what it's going down to. I expect it will become clear soon.
Edit: down from 1.4% to 1%. Odds of winning 34,500 to 1 (from 24,500) to 1 https://www.nsandi.com/premium-bonds

Re: Premium Bonds
2 x £25 from our joint £73K.
Only one more draw at the current rate before the expected return drops by about a third.

Re: Premium Bonds
We've had our p/bonds for 12 months now......won a total of 40 prizes over 12 months and we're satisfied with the return.

Re: Premium Bonds
The odd thing about my winnings is that 3 of the 4 bonds that came through were only eligible for the draw this month thus reinforcing my suspicion that newly bought bonds stand a better chance of winnings even though NS&I say otherwise.

There's a name for that kind of thing. It's called...

Re: Premium Bonds
Couple of months ago reduced the Mrs holding down to £100. She has won £25 this month!

Nice start from the new look website.
Just a quick heads-up if anyone has any issues with getting the 'Go' check-button to work on the new-look site - I'm using Windows 10 with Firefox browser, and I had to disable AdBlock for the site to get the checking process to work.
It seems to work fine with no issues when using Edge.
Cheers,

That was last month. Haven't checked today's yet. Still in bed and this tablet doesn't know my ns&i no.

Re: Premium Bonds
A single £25 from our joint holding of £73,000. We've won hardly anything since adding £33,000 to our holding in July - but that's randomness for you.
Shows the old wives' tale that new bonds win more is rubbish though.

Yes, two x £1 million prizes each month, even after the prize fund goes down next month.

Re: Premium Bonds
So I went on to their new site and entered my holder number after clicking on the plrize checker sign. Nothing happened. It would appear that I have to sign on to my account to give bank details, although I was already having prize money paid into my acct. but it wasn't a totally automatic process, required some intervention from them and there were 441 people ahead of me in the queue. Blow that! I exited and will just wait and see what happens. Why they can't just transfer my details to their new website is beyond me. No wonder test and trace doesn't work and no wonder productivity is so low in this country when all this internet is so complicated. I wondered why you were up so early (or was it so late?) PD. Now I know.
I was using Edge b.t.w. I suppose I should nevertheless disable adblock but have more important things to deal with at the moment.
