Nothing for me this month but 3 last month. I'll be moving some cash from my NS&I to add to SIPP and/or ISA then top it back up again over the year. So I expect it'll be a dry few months as I'll have less than a full holding

Thanks for the reminder. It seems you didn't catch me up but there's always next year.

3 x £25 makes £700 this tax year, as against £425 last year. Full holdings.

And exactly the same this month.

2 x £25. Perhaps my luck is changing.

Anyone here happen to remember, or know, in which section of the old The Motley Fool site the Premium Bonds board was located?

...OK, this has been answered now elsewhere.

Sadly, initial results do not appear promising.

I thought I'd have a quick look here https://www.nsandi.com/prize-checker#high-value-winners to no avail.

Until tomorrow, then.

Someone got lucky, £50,000 prize, purchased in Mar-19, presumably the first eligible draw.

Having looked at that, PD, I am considering moving to Kent  Buckinghamshire rarely comes up. I expect the reason is that all those grammar schools in Kent make it possible for parents to put loads of dosh into PBs.

Actually, studying that table, what does it mean when it states Holding: £50k (or whatever) , bond value : (different amount)? What's the difference between the two?

Bonds bought at two (or more) different times, I presume.

Whenever they were bought, surely the value is still the same, i.e. the current value of £1 each. Purchase date is a different matter and should be dealt with under that column.

Total holding is self-explanatory.

Bond value is how many were bought at the same time as the winning one.

For example, if you invested £10,000 at 5 different times your total holding is £50,000, but each number belongs to a bond value £10,000.

Mine are far more random than this.

Scott.

Really? How peculiar! How do they cope with your randomisation? Surely, all we need to know is what the current total holding is. And what do they put down if you started with £50k and sold some of them in batches, having won precious little and needing money, and then won a big prize on the reduced holding?

It's very straightforward, they just state how many are in the consecutive batch that you own that contains the winning number. Each owner can see these in their account.

Moving in to the current tax year, my May 2019 "prizes" commence with a 2 x £25 on a full holding. I'm therefore already down £75 on last year's 5 X £25.

There's always someone worse off than you, PD. I only had 1 x £25 and my last year's total was considerably less, too. But, hey, things can change. A whole year of excitement ahead of us!
