Looking back I won nothing at all for 14 months between March 2018 and May2019, on 11.5K of holdings.

Since then £250 in th last 7 months on between 16K and 46K

I'll have a better feel in 2020 over a year and I'll be at full holdings then.

The first 2/3 of the 2019 were good, then nothing for four months!
Ended up just short of 2% return on ~£12.6k
Longest drought for me : May 2013-Mar 2014

£75 for me so I beat you for once. Still not much of a total for the fiscal year.

And if you wait for the postman to deliver a letter - remember them? - it typically arrives mid-month.

Before I learnt of the online checker I used to occasionally get the e-mail to say I'd won a prize. I'd collect my e-mails at work but wasn't inclined to use my personal log in details to check until I was at home. In those days there was Schrodinger's millionaire time, I knew I'd won a prize but had no idea how big until I got home to find it was £25, as it always is.

My return over the last 12 months equates to 0.5% on an £18k holding. Better than the previous year when my bonds achieved around 0.1%. Nothing again this month. As I'm a glutton for punishment I have invested a further £5k which will be eligible for the March draw taking total holdings to £23k. Go figure.

That's pretty unlucky

My returns on c £12500 have been;
year return
2019 1.98%
2018 2.02%
2017 1.43%
2016 0.83%
2015 1.68%
2014 1.28%

Using the last 5 years (£990ish?) and https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/premium-bonds-calculator/:

With £12,500 in Premium Bonds, if you have average luck you would expect to win roughly £750 over 5 year(s)

You are lucky - only 15.4% of people who have put £12500 in premium bonds over 5 years win more than £975.

I won £109 on the Lotto on Saturday too - for a £14 'investment' :)
Do ya feel lucky, punk ?

[my balance at start of 2014 was £11761, and all prizes reinvested]

I won a £100 prize this month - first time ever I've won anything other than £25 prizes.

(Holding is currently £13K as I cashed some in for a house purchase).

Scott.

£150 on an £80K holding. Like the previous poster unusually a £50 prize.

As previously and to avoid any confusion, you can't have an £80,000 Premium Bond holding individually. The current limit is £50,000 per individual. You may be aggregating your Family's holding.

On a £35000 holding I've won between £25 and £100 (once) for 27 out of the 29 months since I purchased them.

Return over the past twelve months has been 1.7% so a minuscule above interest rates.

However I live in hope of a good win sometime.

Oh dear!

Blow for 21million Premium Bond holders as NS&I wields the axe - with HALF as many people winning £50 and £100 prizes from May

This is Money

We will have to see what the effects are for the £25 prizes. More details here:

The cuts reduce the effective prize fund rate of Premium Bonds, which do not pay interest, to 1.3 per cent a year, and the odds of any one bond winning a prize from 24,500 to 1 to 26,000 to 1.

Expected return on maximum current holding now 1.15%

(12 * 50,000/26,000) = 23.08

23 * 25/50000 = 1.15%
