I have with a Bond; all has been OK, with monthly interest paid gross.
They are owned by CCFS, and I wanted to check out their finances and status before adding to this.

I have a bond with Charter Savings Bank, and am not overly concerned, they're protected up to a total of £85,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
1.96% for 2 years doesn't seem all that great, you can get up to 2.11% elsewhere:
