I have a Halifax Easycash account which is held solely to get a Visa Electron card.
Back in the day, I could use this on certain websites to avoid credit/debit card surcharges.
Now that these (upfront) surcharges are out of the window, is there any point in me retaining this account?

Re: Should I bin my Visa Electron Card
I'd say it depends on how many other cards you have.
I like to be sure that I have at least 2 active cards and that at least 1 is a Visa and 1 a Mastercard.
Two reasons for this, a) I've been places (in Europe) where they didn't take one or the other and b) I've had card machines fail to recognise the chip in a card and so had to use another - used to be quite common with machines at our railway station.

Re: Should I bin my Visa Electron Card
This Electron card stays in a wallet in a drawer, and hasn't been used for a couple of years.
I have Visa debit, Visa credit and Mastercard credit cards available to me.
I think the Electron card has no benefits now so I'll look to close the account.
