Haven't times changed! - things dried up

Just thinking back to when Property/Practical routinely had 100 posts a day. Not criticising in any way of course, just reflecting on how times have changed...
What was it that killed the 'popular market', or discussion of it here? Stamp duty, local regulation... a combination?

There's quite a few dedicated websites like PropertyTribes and now Facebook groups to cover even the most niche investment strategies. I do miss the Fools' though
