Surveys that pay

#462444

Postby plaguedbyfoibles » December 1st, 2021, 9:20 pm

I thought it might be a good idea for us to come up a list of audience / market research firms, primarily UK based, that offer paying surveys.

I have found the following thus far (haven't used any of these at the moment, but planning to sign up for and use the first):

https://www.populuslive.com - Seems to mostly offer political surveys
https://prolific.co - Apparently requires photo ID
https://www.respondent.io - Seems to be mostly be geared towards IT professionals

Found via https://www.reddit.com/r/beermoneyuk/co ... m_8_sites/

Have also found the following links that I will peruse later:

https://www.reddit.com/r/beermoneyuk/co ... om_abroad/

At this point, I should add the usual "buyer beware" disclaimer.

Prolific isn't accepting any new participants due to being flooded with teenage girls. Currently you can only sign up to a waiting list.
The reason for their current issues is an entertaining story and well worth a read. It has however lead to a large number of scientific studies being abandoned.

I caught that and it was a good listen; and a reminder to sanitise your data at the front end ;)

On surveys... I've been doing them for https://www.vdcresearch.com/ for years
- not sure how I originally got involved (or how one would sign up now) it was that long ago

Surveys are generally by invite once you're on the books
- US based but rewards are in Amazon vouchers and they ship most places; typically 30USD for 15min web form, ~100USD for a 30min phone call

I use Toluna and have done for years. They have improved overtime in adding points to your account and they also have Amazon gift card. The annoying thing is that you fill in a profile that should provide relevant surveys but it isn't doing its job ( probably due to the people who submit survey than the platform).

My wife uses https://www.ipsosisay.com/en-gb/rewards and earned around £100 of Amazon vouchers over the years (other vouchers are available).

MoneySavingExpert has a good list of survey sites. In terms of those that pay cash (as opposed to gift cards, etc), I have found PopulusLive, YouGov, and Panelbase to be fairly good and to have useful/interesting surveys. ValuedOpinions (gives gift card rewards) is also quite good.

I joined but find it VERY annoying
Every time i go to complete a survey it asks me questions such as age, and gender which are all in my profile already
Also the number of poits it say you get for a survey is NEVER what appears in you record
I have done 10 so far ranging from 25-85 points and 3 ponts EVERY time

I stopped participating because I found them very intrusive and do not like spraying my opinions around when if someone had a mind to, it would not be that difficult to identify me or at least as one of a fairly small group.

look how all the junk snailmail and email has dried up compared to 4/5 years ago

I used to do this OFFline. Visits to a small market research company above a shop on the high street. They frequently held focus/chat groups on various subjects. Dunno whether covid has driven this online now? Tastings can't be. Maybe worth having a walk down the high street to look.

Paid WAY better than online stuff, who have no shortage of volunteers. They always wanted middle class/professional people with money to spend. Much harder for advertisers to access than the poorer end of the community.

It was usually a couple of hours with nibbles watching tv commercials. But sometimes chatting about politics, charities, or tasting samples. Typically £40-50. Most I ever got paid was £80 for an evening telling the RSPB what I thought of their plans to buy up most of Java (not much). I also got paid to drink beer. Very proud of that one, professional beer drinker :ugeek: .

You really need to put that in your user profile.
