I recall Now TV being discussed on here as a cheaper alternative to Sky.

Up to the 31st May 2018 they have some discount offers for new customers (or in reality anyone who can create a new email address) for the cinema or entertainment packages at half price for 12 months (£55 & £45 or both for £99).

If you do sign up put a note in your calendar to cancel just before the 12 months is up or they will go back to charging you at full price.

Thanks AF62. Before I press the button, could someone comment please? I have around 40 mega speed and an LG smart TV with this app. I am thinking about going for the cinema option.

I can't comment with authority as my connection currently runs a lot faster, but I really can't see that being a problem. You're well in to the good speed category. Well I say a lot faster, I'm currently running at 74Mbps, but I can stream 4k to my tv from other providers without a hitch, so again I would have thought 720p from NOW shouldn't be a problem.

If you have more than one person in your household, or there's a fairly decent chance if you have one person with multiple cards, you could always take out the 14 day free trial just to be sure, then cancel and take the 2-4-1 on a second account.

Thanks Bobby, unfortunately there's only me in this household. Netflix works fine so why wouldn't this...The thing is, I'd rather have BFI but that doesn't have a TV app, but they do have the flicks I'd like to revisit, Wim Wenders etc.

I find it difficult to see how you'd run in to problems...

No computer you can run the BFI player on and run a connection to the tv from?

If you're wondering if your wifi is strong enough etc. and you have a TV with the app installed (so no financial outlay required to buy a Now TV box), why not just sign up for a Sky Sports Day Pass at £7.99, or try the Kids Pass Free Trial, and see how it goes? Max outlay £8 and you get to see if it's for you before signing up for the cinema option.

I use the sports day pass regularly, and it works fine, being just a little below HD in quality terms.
