I’ve just moved into a new home and half of the furniture that I have here has been given away for nothing by friends or friends of friends.
I’m also trying to get rid of stuff that I no longer need but am finding it difficult to do so. For instance, I have put this sofa on a number of Eco/Freebie sites but without any response whatsoever.
I understand that it’s difficult to pick up and transport but it only cost me £200 last year for a Luton van and two men for 4 hours to clear my entire flat so this will take a fraction of that time.
I’ll never buy another sofa or other large furniture again, that’s for sure. Just scour the freebie sites, there’s loads of furniture that no one can get rid of!

Re: What cost of living crisis?
Generalising, there are people who are happy with what they've got (even if it is a deck chair) and people who want "this exact thing". The population outside those two groups (especially when you consider couples have to agree on a furniture choice) is rather small.

That's one way of keeping warm. Then you can burn the piano.

We've got a large box of Candles MrsF's father bouth in the late 1970s, so when it gets chilly we can sit aroundone of those.
When it gets really cold we can light it.
