In my case when inquiring about this, I was told that I had ticked a box to say I didn't want any marketing materials, and the email counts as marketing.
If I did that, it would be because I didn't want them to sell my details on the third parties, not to exclude notifications of cheap dealing days - it's a sledge-hammer to crack a nut.

The last email about cheap trading days I received stated that they would no longer be notifying clients of the cheap day and that you could just go to the usual link and check to see when the next one is scheduled...

As puffster has indicated, this isn't what's happening here. They sent out the usual emails about a week before the cheap trading day and on the day itself in January, but they had an additional paragraph saying:

"We wanted to let you know that from next month our monthly emails about this offer will stop. But don’t worry, the offers will still continue and you can find out all the information you need to know ahead of the offer. Save this link into your favourites to keep up to date."

By the way, the link I've supplied is not actually copied verbatim from the email - the link in the email is one of those that has a long string of apparently random characters in it. Instead, it's the URL that link redirects to - basically, I've done that because I suspect the random-looking character string contains encoded information about which client the email was sent to and I don't think either Halifax's or my interests are served by making it appear that everyone who uses it from this board is me! ;-)

I only use Halifax for My Dad and Step mother’s Accounts so often miss this. But thanks to this message I have been able to get them cheap dealing today topping up British Land.
