Ian,

I notice the shares are down around 8% following these interims.

If the yield rises sufficiently I may top up as it`s well below average holding.

G4S Has been one of my luckier Shares in a 40 odd share Folio

and was selected as part of a forced sale recently,to date has provided around 28%

income on cost since purchase 4 years ago.

With a 3.7% yield (9.7p / 260p) and quite.a.lot.of debt. It's not doing it for me!

Likewise monabri. As a foot note, I do have experience of working for this outfit many moons ago, enough of an experience so much so, that I saw what an unprofessional, weakly lead, by less than honest managers outfit they actually were. I wouldn't touch them as an investment with a barge pole. There are better options out there.

Its recently paid off 260 million of debt and maintained its dividend.I`ill probably buy if yield is around 4.5%-5% depending on my top up table.

Yes with recent blunders/scandals G4S has hit a rough patch but their dividend has more than doubled in the past 12 years, increasing it during the

financial crisis, it adds useful diversity in my portfolio.

I googled " gfs pays off debt"

Quite interesting...

Warning : unless you're broad minded ..do NOT google gfs pays off debt

Anyway ( now that you've all finished googling!) , It looks like they reduced net debt by £41m

https://www.londonstockexchange.com/exc ... 50218.html

"Net debt as at 30 June 2018 was £1,566 million (2017: £1,607 million)."

(13/38 occurrence of "debt").

I'm not sure where £250m figure comes from, maybe Gross debt reduction?

Thanks Monabri,

My mistake only minimal net debt reduction of 41m.
