HYP Haiku
Everyone is very serious around here at the moment. Well the weather is great where I am, far to nice to be grumpy. I’m going to buy a new t-shirt and was wondering what to have printed on it. A mention of Gengulphus’s new nickname led me to compose the following, which I hope to be proudly wearing soon:
HYP haiku
Big G ceased Pickering;
And tinkered like Terry;
PYAD lurked and was indolent.

Very good SDN123. I’m honoured to have been included with such HYP seniority.

Re: HYP Haiku
Nice thread.
To young pot builders, I do not have a poetic bone in my body, so here goes:
At portfolio level
Do not chase income madly
Very long term
It will make you poorer
It is capital
Which determines
Your safe income level
If you reinvest dividends
You build capital
Which in turn
Produces more income
Total return
Is what investors get
Like it or not
Measure your performance
It matters it is easy without
To kid yourself
Beware inflation
Take it into account
When measuring performance
Beware the jabber
Of fanatics and liars
Boards are full of both
In Excel
With tables pivots and slicers
Slick systems are so easily built
Having the maths is not enough
If you miss half the problem parameters
Analysing co accounts
A waste of time
Learn to exploit Market Sentiment
Instead
In investing
Balance is best
Slow is best
All in UK lessens your returns
LTBH is not a law
It is an aim
Events change aims
Fees and costs
Are not your problem
Your closed mind
Can be
Do not envy us oldie's wealth
Do not envy our bad health
Remember you will get old too
Without noticing
Consume in moderation
Leave enough to save
Enjoying life without is easy
Enjoying nature
Gardening
Woodwork...
Beats investing by a mile
