Star Trek? (VOD)
"Vodafone Group PLC on Thursday said it conducted the UK's first live holographic call using 5G technology for a social purpose".
https://www.londonstockexchange.com/exc ... 90500.html
"The live 3D hologram of Manchester City Women's Football Captain Steph Houghton appeared on stage in front of audience at Vodafone's headquarters in Newbury."
Hmmmm .....I wonder where all this is going?

I’m 57 in two weeks and even at my tender age I can’t keep up with all this technology.
Amazing stuff, but apart from the ‘arent I clever?’ Bragging rights, I’m not sure what it means to VOD as a company, and the benefit for us shareholders? Maybe I’m getting grumpy in my old age. Lol

I could imagine that VOD would want to entice potential users with some as yet unimaginable (at least to us ancients ) killer application which will cause future customers to spend a fortune with them using their network to take advantage of it.

The dividend might be better covered in this scenario.
Cheers, OLTB.

Sadly, with us being only human, I can see certain types using this for that purpose.

Re: Star Trek? (VOD)
Part of the dividend will in the future no doubt be paid in the form of a hologram of a tantalising bunch of large notes, this will assist in creating proper divi cover. As a shareholder, you will be required to use Vod's 5G mobile telephone service, you will then see the notes, will feel you can almost touch them, but, as a favour to you to make you into a better saver, will not be able to spend them.

£1 a share.
Hope not. I've just topped up, largely on the back of 8 directors buying £1.5m worth earlier this month, when the sp hit 1.65

From what I gather it sounds more like the holograms in Star Wars. A hologram of the person in the real world rather than a real person going into a holographic world (Holodeck) from Star Trek.

Pornography?
Earlier this century, when 3G was being trialled, it was explained to me that the killer apps were Girls, Goals and Gambling.
