Re: RSA Insurance Group plc, Final Results
I too hold RSA, but they are not currently an HYP candidate.
The results are disappointing (but not disastrous) and as the CEO Stephen Hester says, they need to do better next year. Down 4% in the market today and not a bargain at the moment.

Based on there being many higher yields available. There are 4 or 5 in the same Business Sector, let alone all the others.

I see that I dumped RSA in 2014, after they had reduced the final dividend, then the interim and failed to pay a final for they year to Dec 2013. Two years of reducing dividends was enough. It had taken long enough for the dividend to climb from the level when they cut back in 2002, after selling their life side.
I think that they still have a year to go before they reach that 5 year mark.

RSA's long term historical performance (going back to the 1990s) is horrific. It's been a serial dividend cutter and inorganic capital raiser.
Best wishes
Mark.

If I listened to Stephen Hester correctly, RSA has a historical performance going back 300 years, but I'm not sure where you would find the financial records for most of that. It's a good sign if the price drops into range.

I'm a fan of Stephen Hester who has been CEO for 5 years now and this is why I'm invested, however as it is not HYP invest-able at the moment I'm straying off topic for this board.
