Wood Group (John) PLC (WG.) Final results
AMEC was once a HYP pick. It them morphed into AMFW, which in turn was taken over by Wood Group (John) plc. For those of us who held on (Doris-like)....

Thanks for the sterling conversion date Bree - I had missed it on my skim down the results and hadn't had a second look.
Like Doris, I held on when AMFW went to join Wood Group.

Another Doris here. I'm down about 45% on capital. Just holding and taking the dividends.

Still held here in Mrs Arb's HYP. Well down - about 20%. Probably should be thinking of buying more.

They have reached front page of the short tracker:
https://shorttracker.co.uk/companies/?sort=2&d=desc
with 8 funds shorting 7.7% of the stock
Carillion reached 15% before going tits up.
Above my arbitrary 5% limit for bailing out. Part of my 'sleep easy' strategy.

Presumably you weren't holding in October 2017 when the short % shows at 18% or in January 2019 at 8.72%.

No, I only started paying attention to the short tracker after the Carillion debacle.
I spent quite a lot of time trying to work out what leading indicators could have alerted me in advance.
The short tracker was the answer I came to. Not much of a track record to base a sell time strategy, but the best I could come up with.

Folks,
Programmed selling driven by short % is hardly HYP-P and judging by the number of alerts I am handling from your fellow Fools may I encourage you to go to another board to discuss this trading strategy.
Please use either : viewforum.php?f=31 or in the WG case use viewtopic.php?f=94&t=16827 .
Thank you for your co-operation. If you want to query this drop me a PM, politely.
