Thanks for the notification. However, I put this item here as it’s held in my HYP, and I thought others would like to discuss it here. I thought that was acceptable? This is HYP Practical, and IMB are a HYP share. This could well be my last post on tlf.

I'm with you here Ian. Do not know why we have individual Boards anyway but that is anther argument. I thought the idea was for some reason to duplicate HYP share reports on a Company Board and this HYP Practical Board.

I quite agree. This is nonsense, in my view. Here is the HYP practical board and what could be more practical than discussing HYP shares and results here. I frankly do not like the prospect of buzzing here there and everywhere when all our HYP information should be readily available in one place.

And likely there are many LFsters who aren't the slightest bit interested in HYP who also don't like the prospect of buzzing here there and everywhere. But Company News has more generic use than HYP Practical I would have thought so we should lump it for the greater good perhaps.

Arb, when the new 'Company News Board' was set up, the following was stated in a thread on this board -

Just to remind posters that General News about a company should be placed on the "Company News FTSE350" forum. Can we keep HYP Practical for "results", "corporate actions" and "dividends" announcements/news. Thanks.

Given that an 'IMB Trading Statement' isn't a set of results, or an RNS about a corporate action, and usually has no specific dividend announcements contained within it, then on the above criteria it's quite right that the news item should be
held on the Company Share News board (https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=94).

As stated above, the criteria for news-related items that are allowed on this board is quite clear, and it seems that the guidance has not been followed in this particular instance.

Isn't this just a continuation of the endless debates on TMF about the format and split of the Boards and what is and is not appropriate.
As has been said, the Company Board is not just about Us, and We should get used to keeping an eye on it. If some nice person wishes to make an alert-cross-post in Practical, well, thankyou.

A few centuries ago, those of the HYP temperament would have been engaged in theological debates about angels on the head of a pin. Now lacking that outlet, we're here instead.

The trading statement is of course referring only to the first half year of trading for Imperial and I doubt from what they have said that there will be any surprises in the half year results when they are announced. maybe even a little dull. No indication about the dividend at this stage. Still, even if the dividend growth does not continue at 10% (who knows?) this is surely still very much a HYP share.

I couldn't agree more with your post Dod. IMB are a mainstay in my HYP, equally weighted on capital value terms with BATS in my HYP. As for IMB results, they're out on 8 May 19. See http://www.imperialbrandsplc.com/Invest ... #category1
