I notice on sharecast, RIO's dividend is shown as dropping from 2019, 263p to 2020, 233p.
Is this well known - or perhaps a glitch on the website. Are you current owners expecting a dividend drop?

Re: RIO dividend forecast
I've just had a special but that was more like £2. Webfg confuse between their currencies historic in $ and forecast in £.
Opps sorry I've just checked and webfg agree with your observation.

I did wonder whether the special had confused matters, but I do not think so. As it seems at the moment, the RIO dividend in set to fall by 12%, but I haven't noticed anyone comment in this.

Re: RIO dividend forecast
Both RIO and BHP now have a stated policy of moving the dividend up and down in line with profits, rather than maintaining the divi when profits dip.
Hence the Sharecast Rio forecast has earnings per share falling from 432p to 375p and hence the dividend going the same way.
This is a sensible policy for a cyclical commodity business.

I agree with that! Whether this makes it sensible to have in a HYP is another matter
