It never was in the 'old country' either, but that didn't stop them being discussed there (no FAQ, you see). Hopefully some of the knowledgeable people from the old Banking board will still be popping into this one as well as OBR's new one.

Try OBR's site, here; http://www.fixedincomeinvestments.org.uk
It is IMHO unfortunate that the demise of TMF has led to this split, but it's a great site and a mine of information.
And OBR (if you weren't already aware) is a legend.
Thanks for the link.
It so happens that I came across that site a few days ago, while searching for more info.
It does look quite useful, except that I'm unsure how up to date the information is. The "prices and details" tables I looked at were full of #REF! tags, which is Excel's way of telling you that it's been asked to look for something that doesn't exist. There is a blog with the last entry dated September 2015 and a list of "Latest News and Media Links" with the last entry in December 2010.
I didn't see any evidence that part of TMF has split to that site.
I would say if it isn't dead, then it hasn't been dusted for a long time.
Maybe that is consistent with a site run by a "legend".
Anyway, I left a message asking the relevant question. So far no answer.

Re: Where does this "HYP" belong?
GrahamPlatt - I don't see OBR / Mark Taber's new fixed income and banking sector discussion board as a 'split.' The Banking Sector board on TMF was just one of many boards and most of the TMF investment, as opposed to social boards, had long since waned. It was OBR's incredible high profile bondholder campaigns which kept the Banking Sector board alive in recent years and there was widespread support on TMF for his offer to set up a board - see http://boards.fool.co.uk/without-getting-sentimental-an-awful-lot-has-been-13456638.aspx
Also fixed income is a pretty complex area so it makes sense for a discussion board to be part of an investment site which also provides information, analysis, ideas and comment on the subject. He only got the board up and running last week (see http://www.fixedincomeinvestments.co.uk/boards/) and it is looking good so far and well worth registering and posting there as well as here.

Re: Where does this "HYP" belong?
Hi James,
I accept what you say, but it is a loss if the great minds of the old Banking Sector board are lost to LemonFool. Casual observers, lurkers and newcomers will no longer get the BoB (not that there is one yet) pointing them to this valuable material. I'm sure that LF and OBR's site will remain closely allied by having readers in common (of whom I am one), who will no doubt highlight anything of significance (in either direction), but I don't think it's wrong to call it a split, and that there will be some "frictional losses".
Apologies to Carioca for the earlier dud link.
