Net gearing

#330983

Postby Arborbridge » August 5th, 2020, 7:28 am

I've lost my usual source for checking on net gearing (the site packed up), and I can't find anything on Mornginstar - except gross gearing. Perhaps there's another site which quotes it for me?

Can anyone tell me the "usual" way of finding net gearing (an idiot's guide please). I have known figures from previous years from various companies, but I'm blowed if I can find any combination of figures on the Morningstar site which come to the ratios I have for those years.

In know people will say "check the company site" but I always get lost wading through acres of stuff on those sites, and I'm never confident of having found the right details amongst all the ifs buts and maybes. I just need something quick and simple I can look up and I'm prepared to live with the occasional website error.

Thanks in advance.

Some options here Arb, showing Net Gearing for an example of Vodafone, and all showing the same figure of 54.86 -

https://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/shares ... ndamentals

https://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/londo ... financials

http://www.investorease.com/share.php?epic=VOD

Hopefully you can verify some of your own Net Gearing figures with some other holdings on the above options and gain some confidence that they might be useful resources for you.

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

Thanks for those ideas: HYPP people are so helpful!
Having checked them out, I quite like the shares magazine link because it shows a couple of historic years. This will help me cross check with the figures I've already recorded - so far they are identical which is encouraging.

I shall bookmark, thanks!
