I'm at ~12% of my HYP portfolio with TW. I'm tempted to reduce it to a more sensible percentage and then to re-invest in AV and/or NG.
It would mean a very small "profit" (enough to cover selling & buying costs). It's the compromise between yield and safety. Any views?

If it helps you to sleep at night then do so. I'd rather leave things alone, I adjust my weighting ny investing new monies where i am light on any given share.

At one time BT. was my largest holding by a country mile but I stopped investing in it and concentrated elsewhere on building my HYP.
Now BT. is a mere 2% without doing anything other than auto-reinvesting dividends on the certificated part of the holding (about 50%) whilst building up the rest of the HYP. Median HYP holding is 3% now meaning I didn't sell but bought in other company shares around it as time went on.

What are the respective yields? A key question, surely.
If you are still building your HYP, then hanging in there and seeing the 12% decrease as you add new money elsewhere may be the better bet. But as Ian says, peace of mind matters too.

Re: Taylor Wimpey [TW]
In the end I decided to sell down 20% of my holding - I felt I would reduce "my exposure" a little. Now , what can I buy with the cash...
