The vultures are circling.
Galliford Try has proposed to Bovis that the equity in the combined group would be split 52.25% to Galliford Try shareholders and 47.75% to Bovis shareholders. On the basis of the share price of Galliford Try at close of business on 10 March 2017 this would value the entire issued equity of Bovis at £1,191m or 886p per share, representing a 7.0% premium to the closing share price of Bovis on the same date.
No response from Bovis as yet. Bovis rejected another proposal from Redrow.
In aggregate, the total value of the Proposal would therefore be £8.14 per Bovis share. Under the Proposal, Bovis shareholders would own approximately 32.4 per cent. of the combined group on a pro forma basis post completion, and therefore share substantially in the equity and future value creation of the combined group.
The Board of Bovis informed Redrow on 6 March 2017 that the Proposal did not merit further discussion.

Daft question time... on the radio yesterday they called the company 'Galliford T.R.Y.". I've always called it 'Try' as in the word 'try'. Should it be 'T.R.Y.' ?

I have never seen the T.R.Y. form before.
They refer to themselves using Try, and The Company was created in 2000 through a merger of Try Group plc, founded by WS Try in 1908 in London, and Galliford plc.
