Going back to the OP., - extract above, - this surely brings a similar or same point into play regarding the huge fines incurred by some banks (e.g. HSBC) a few years back, for money laundering offences (in the US and South America). Ultimately, I suppose it is the share holders who end up paying, as it comes out of the "big pot"!
