As you may have seen on the Strategies Board, sadly he will not be joining us.

That's a shame, I'll really miss his week ahead posts.

That's a real shame.

Thanks for providing that link. I'm grateful for the opportunity to thank him before the other place closes.

That is a real shame about Luni's retiral but how he did it I do not know. The most amazing output. It must have been a fulltime job.

BTW the title of the thread sounds like a pipe tune, as in ' L'uni no more'.

Didn't realise you were a fellow devotee Mr Dod

It is a shame that Luni isn't joining us here at lemon, however I respect his decision. I shall miss his most helpful "week ahead' posts, and the wise words he shared with us. Thank you Luni.

Regards,

Ian.

NOOOOO!

That is a real shame.

I love Luni - he is such a fount of knowledge.

I'd like to think he is there - lurking in the background under an assumed identity. Keeping an eye on us,

Thank you Luni for all your help and posts over the years.

Matt

We've updated the HYP Top-Up Spreadsheet to now include a new button which will open up the relevant 'Week Ahead' news page on the Investors Chronicle website that's updated each Friday.

Please see this post on the Financial Software Board for details -

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=781

Any comments or feedback would be best-placed on that thread please, to help keep potentially off-topic posts on this board down.

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

He posted on TMF to say he had registered his un here (to prevent mischief) and personally I don't think he'll stay away!

Luni also said he'd probably have retired soon anyway. It would be nice to be able to say 'Hi' again, but I'm not expecting any resumption of 'full service'

Hi bree. It's one of the saddest things about the demise of the MF boards, losing Luni in the process. I do wonder though, is anyone else thinking of providing the kind of lists that he did? I'm not volunteering, but would fully support anyone who was toying with the idea.

Regards,

Ian.

I have no justification whatsoever for the following statement.

I think Luni probably painted himself into a corner by selflessly undertaking so many avenues of research. I can imagine he had hardly a minute to himself towards the end as his workload grew like Topsy. The migration to Lemonfool was probably the last straw.

If so, can anyone blame him? Obviously not.

What I can safely say is that there are a great many people like myself who benefited both from his research and humour and who would love to have him back on a much reduced workload basis.

Luni deserves his retirement but lots of retirees enjoy a small part time job of their own choosing and he clearly loves what he does.

Without recs to count, how can we show Luni that so many of us would love to have him back in any reduced capacity?

Yes, I do so agree. That and the Best of Board are features I really miss here. BoB was a brilliant way of having my attention drawn to interesting posts on boards I would not always routinely visit.

And I do miss Luni too, and hope he will give us an occasional piece of wisdom or comment on others posts when he feels like it.

Arb.

Those of you missing recs go over to where they are discussing that and put your POV, if you haven't already:

Many are already archived in the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. This one was first captured in Nov 2010.

While we can still search the TMF boards, find the ones you value then see if the Wayback machine holds a copy. If so, bookmark the archived copy for future reference - if not, click the 'add this to the archive' link. Note that if you follow a link on an archived page (including the 'Whole thread' link) it takes you to the archived version of the page if it has it, or offers to archive it if it doesn't.
