Don't know about the shares but if Wood are doing that well I may apply for a contract job with them ! (I am an ex BT engineer who has been working as a Ltd Co contractor) The Oil & Gas industry in the UK has been pretty quiet the last few years.

Aberdeen is still very quiet, OK, a few people are getting jobs back but three well known eating houses in Aberdeen are closing this month due to lack of custom one that has been there for over 30 years.

Why are Wood group trading so low when oil is so high is the question I would ask. PFC is soaring on rising oil price. From what I am seeing by the way a lot of work is being won by Technip in Paris, had an agent contact me today about that, they have won 3 big ones including BP Tortoga (spelling) which KBR were confident of winning. The rate was fine as well so they have not bought the job.

I don't know what others mearnsfool is talking about but when I was back in Aberdeen last week , the Albyn was in the papers for closing its doors, after 13 years according to the papers although I remember the Albyn from the 80s.... Silver Darling was still there last time I looked - I had friends who lived practically next door to it on Pocra Quay when I was a student, although they tended to frequent the Fittie Bar :-)
