I wouldn't. In normal circumstances I consider it a failure of planning if I have to buy any bottle at full price. Stock up while the offers are on!

(This time round I've added twelve bottles net to my wine rack. Ordered 15 altogether, 2 were unavailable, one has gone as a gift. Should last me 'til the next offer).

I know what you mean, and agree. I also stock up at offer time, although I don't look around to see where the offers are, I just take advantage if I'm in there.

However I very rarely use Asda as the only one I pass regularly is near my mum's which is 2 hours drive away. I do tend to use it for fuel, just never go in the store as I don't like the 'feel' of it[1].

I more meant that if I happened to be in there again I think it is well worth the £8 they normally charge so would pick one up. This still appears to be £2 less than other distributors charge any way.

[1] Asda Ashton, odd access road, narrow twisty driving routes and cramped spaces, people begging next to most of the trolley 'hubs', and just generally feels disorganised, as evidenced by the 6 trolleys waiting for the one open till (which had a broken conveyer belt) on Tuesday and staff berating customers for not queueing in the correct place (apparently a corral at the end of the row of tills but as only one was open people naturally went towards it) instead of actually opening another till and sorting the problem. And then not being able to find the key to unlock the turnstiles to get a trolley through the till when they opened it.

Only seems a couple of weeks since the last offer, and Sainsburys have it (25%) again! Bit of a dilemma when the wine rack is already well-stocked :?

Only found out 'cos I went online to see if I could get a delivery slot for regular groceries!

Asda have their 25% off of 6 or more bottles of wine offer running (until 30th Aug).

They also have a couple of roll-back offers in play, e.g. reducing a £10 bottle of Diablo Dark Red to £6 when buying 6+ (https://groceries.asda.com/product/all-other-grapes/diablo-dark-red/1000115832201)

So they do. Thanks for posting! My wine rack being down to three bottles, I may just take advantage if I can get a delivery slot.

A site that responds to google search for wine offers thinks Tesco has the offer on right now. That would be one I can manage locally without need of a delivery. Alas, Tesco thinks otherwise.

The offer seems to be back at several supermarkets. Methinks time is right for my next delivery.

Hasn't been flagged up at my local Tesco yet. But there are 171 wines flagged as Clubcard reductions, and a fair number of those are 25% off. Including the Trivento Malbec, which some like, although I personally find it a bit bland.

Tesco "clubcard" prices seem competitive with regular prices elsewhere. Effectively, don't go there without signing up to be tracked.

I haven't been there this year. Except when I was desperately seeking orange juice (they didn't have it). Or when going to a mini-Tesco for a £3 "meal deal".

If you hold off a little longer Tesco are due to have a '25% off if you buy 6' deal which will reduce those prices even further. If you can't wait Sainsbury's have such a deal at present as do ASDA.

If you try Sainsbury's the Oyster Bay reds are a good deal and Bruce Jack Pinotage Malbec can be had for only £4.50, at that price it is a worth trying.

Just a heads up that Morrisons have a '4 bottles for £20' wine offer on at the moment, with 37 different varieties to choose from -

https://groceries.morrisons.com/offers/buy-4-for-20-1006221295

I'll be picking up some Trivento Reserve Malbec next time I'm in - a lovely red and definitely so at a fiver a bottle, but hopefully there's something in there for most wine lovers...

Cheers,

Trivento Reserve Malbec is currently £4.50 at ASDA if you buy 6 bottles.

Tesco currently have a 25% off wine promotion as I write.

Watch the small print, e.g. qualifying bottles have a shelf price of at least £5.

Filled my boots this morning.

Champagne from a lady's slipper, wine from your boots?

Now that you mention it, I saw that when I just popped in for a "meal deal" for yesterday's lunch. No question of wine shopping this week, but if it's still on next week I might indulge. Though I think the next couple of weeks may see more-or-less everyone running the offer.

Just a quick heads-up that Tesco have a 25% off 6 bottles of wine offer on until Monday 26th September, and also have quite a lot of additional 'club-card-price' discounts on a wide range of wine as well, so any wine-lovers might want to check if any of their favourites can be bought at a double-discount at the moment -

Morrisons currently have one of their 'double-offer' periods on, where they're running a '25% off 6-bottles' campaign, at the same time as having individual discounts on a range of fairly good quality stuff -

https://groceries.morrisons.com/offers/buy-6-save-25-1006978143

I've managed to pick up 6 bottles of my favourite 'Trivento Reserve Malbec', which normally sells for around £8 a bottle, but is currently on offer in Morrisons for £6, and so along with their '25% off 6-bottles' campaign, has meant that I've just picked up 6 bottles for £4.50 each -

https://groceries.morrisons.com/products/trivento-reserve-malbec-248213011

The other bit of good news is that in England, alcohol sales from Morrisons go towards their weekly-spend in their Christmas offer (https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=36635), so a particularly good triple-bonus there for me on this particular bunch of offers...

Hopefully there's some other individual double-offer bottles on the first link above that might interest some here. It looks like the 25% off 6-bottles offer runs until the 4th of December.

Cheers,

Splash out (pardon the pun) if you can on the black label special reserve version. It really is worth the extra couple of quid, currently at the normal £10 bringing it to £7.50, although it is often on at £8.

Also at the slightly higher end they had Ravenswood Lodi £12 from £14 and Wanderer Malbec in the offer, and 19 Crimes Aged in Rum barrels reduced to £8.50 and 25%.

Apparently I saved quite a lot of money yesterday :(

Thanks. I can't find and T&Cs about the buy 6 for 25% off offer. It doesn't explain if all 6 have to be the same item or not to qualify. I wouldn't want 6 the same but would buy 3 lots of 2 the same for example.

From memory, you can select different wines - you get the offer if you have 6 (or more, at least at Asda - rather than multiples of 6!) that are in the offer. (Be careful not to choose, say 5 on offer and a regular priced wine - no savings for you...)

My memory appears to be confirmed by MoneySavingCentral: https://moneysavingcentral.co.uk/deals-glitches/morrisons-25-off-wine

These offers are relatively standard now. Yes you can mix and match.

I generally buy six or more bottles all different, with a mix of old favourites and others that catch my eye. As I've just done with Sainsburys, whose offer is back on.

I think it's also not unusual for the offers to coincide across many of the supermarkets, hence Morrisons and Sainsburys both running right now, and very probably others. I mostly go for Sainsburys, 'cos I can get a delivery slot from them, and 6+ bottles are better delivered than carried in my dotage. ;)
