A friend is trying to get his hands on the above, Innis & Gunn Vintage 2015. It's not a brewery I'm that familiar with. DAK where I might find this beer in London?

I've bought Innes & Gunn from Waitrose, not sure if your vintage 2015 would be available, and you might need larger stores than ones in the city but..

Contact the brewery and ask them for your local stockists.

Or order off their online shop.

https://www.innisandgunn.com/browse/c-All-Beers-14

doesn't appear that they make/sell it anymore, and with the title it has that makes sense.

Contacting them may elicit their stockists that may have some but given this is up to three years antiquity now your friend is likely to be out of luck.

Maybe try some of the more specialist beer groups on FB and the web in case somebody knows of anywhere but my guess is its gone by now.

Thanks all. I found the one conditioned in rum barrels in Waitrose. It's not the precise one (whisky barrels) he asked for which appears to be discontinued. But I tried a bottle myself after purchase and it's an interesting proposition; a bit of a winter-warmer. Despite a long remaining shelf-life they had it marked down to 85p a bottle to clear.

the good old BBE date. meaningless, epecially wrt to stuff like strong, bottle conditioned beer on the whole, if kept ina cool and dry place.

At 85p per bottle I'd fill your boots!

Couldn;t do it in Scotland now of course (discount alcohol that is ... at least below a certain price anyway).

I agree, BBE dates are meaningless on so many products. Water has one, but wine doesn't? All beer irrespective of %/ABV seems to be permitted the same maximum shelf-life which is a blunt policy; though AFAIUI some breweries choose to indicate shorter BBEs.
I would have bought more but it was just a flying visit to London this time, and I'm never entirely comfortable putting bottled beer in my hold baggage [though I've done it many times, and only had one bottle blow it's cap; if it happens it's messy].
The subject ones I bought were BBE Jan-19, so I figured they were clearing to make way for a higher turnover product. If my home were now in London I'd have helped empty the shelves for them :)

- Interesting point you make re: Scottish 'alcohol pricing'. I hadn't considered that that also impacts 'discounted to clear' pricing.

I confess I has assumed this to be the case - otherwise the law would be s easily flouted.

True, I see you point. So what'll happen? Scottish retailers shift their short shelf-life supplies into 'discount warehouses' over the border in England?
Rules like this always lead to unexpected results; think US prohibition and State 'border-running', that was still going on in parts when I lived there in the 90s. [You might drive 30-50-? miles across a state border to a more tolerant State in order to fill your car with drink]. Are Berwick and Carlisle going to sprout Channel-port like 'discount booze warehouses'? Will Hadrian's Wall be re-fortified with customs posts to control the flow to the north? Perhaps there'll be a resurgence in home brewing and distilling?

I don't envy you this policy Didds, meanwhile it'll be curious to see how it all pans out.
