Strange wine phenomenon

Today I was enjoying an Aussie Shiraz, this one to be precise

https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z367 ... 6773102291

very nice it was too.

Weird thing though, it seemed to have little bits in it that shimmered in the light, you could not taste or feel them in the mouth but it was like lots of minute particles in suspension in the wine that shone and glittered under my overhead spotlights.

Has anyone else notice this?

Anything to do with the particles mentioned here (I think you may have a scientific leaning and understand it all better than I can)?:

Crystals are quite common in good wines. I don't usually see them in suspension. more often they sink to the bottom of the bottle or glass.

I would also tend to the view that it was tartrate crystals or similar.

I suspect it was isinglass, used for clarifying some wine and beer, but I'd have expected it to be filtered out before bottling. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isinglass
